Dear National Junior Honor Society applicant:

I am pleased that you are interested in joining the NJHS. Please remember, while admittance to the NJHS is certainly an honor and an accomplishment, NJHS is a service based organization. By applying, you are acknowledging your desire to serve the needs of the school and community as a whole. If accepted, you will be expected to participate in NJHS activities to the best of your ability.

Please complete the following without placing your name on the application. Applications will be reviewed anonymously to ensure fairness in assessment. Once your application is complete, place it in an 8.5x11 envelope with your name on the outside of the envelope. I will remove your application from the folder and assign it an independent ID # on each application.

Many of you are not only talented and accomplished, but also humble. Please recognize it is this application alone that will determine acceptance or denial. Be honest and proud of your accomplishments. Think through your responses to ensure you don’t miss anything.

Finally, please include a check for $20.00, made out to the HunkingMiddle School, with “NJHS annual dues” in the memo line. Your check will not be cashed until all applications are evaluated and you are notified of your status. If your application is not accepted, your check will be returned to you.

All applications must be submitted by Friday, December 2, 2011. It is the committee’s goal to evaluate all applications and have a response to all applicants prior to December 9, 2011.

Congratulations on your fine academic standing, and good luck with the application process.

Sincerely,

Ms. Cara LaBelle
