Here’s What…

Level 1 workshops are the first in a series of four workshops designed to assist teachers in building understanding of the various math textbook programs approved by the school board for use in all Milwaukee Public Schools.

So What…

Participants in Level 1 workshops will be introduced to each of the three mathematics programs as facilitated by the publishers. Teachers only need to attend one Level 1 workshop. Programs Approved for the process include:

Math Programs for K – Grade 5 Math Programs for Grades 6 – 8

(1) Everyday Mathematics (1) Connected Math Program 2

(2) Houghton Mifflin Expressions (2) Glencoe Mathematics:

(3) Scott Foresman Addison Wesley Applications and Concepts 2

(3) Holt Mathematics, Course 1, 2, and 3

Compensation for attending Level 1 workshops will come from your school’s professional development funds. At the conclusion of the Level 1 workshops, teachers will be able to complete a form requesting sample resources for your school from the publisher.

Now What…

Use the attached form to register for one of the Level 1 workshop sessions. All requests for 1st choice dates will be honored to the best of our ability. Space is limited. Once a workshop is filled participants will be assigned their alternate date. Registration deadline: September 8th.
