JOB SUMMARY

The Kingston Rowing Club is looking for an individual for Summer Employment from May 25th to August 31st. The successful candidate will coordinatethe Learn-To-Row (LTR) program, and assist with development of the Adult Recreational Rowing League pilot-program. The Kingston Rowing Club operates High School, Summerand University competitive programs, as well as Masters Competitive and Non-Competitive, LTR, and is currently redeveloping its Recreational Rowing programs.

The primary focus of the LTR Program Coordinator will be to develop theLTR program, and we would ideally like the Coordinatorto assist with the development and operation of the Youth & Adult Recreational Rowing program which can be negotiated as a secondary focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NCCP Instruction Coach certification OR an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Rowing Experience as a competitive Athlete and Coaching at a competitive or recreation level.
  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline would be considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in both official Canadian languages would be considered an asset.

HOURS

Flexible time and seasonal workloads will be involved. Many aspects of this job can be performed remotely with some on-site duties as required.

DUTIES

  • Promote, advertise and manage all aspects of the Club summer LTR program;
  • Oversee registration of LTR and potentially also the Recreational programs, and collection of fees for these programs;
  • Hiring of LTR Instructors and potentially also Recreational Coaches;
  • Assist LTR and Recreational Rowing instructors with the use of equipment;
  • Communicate & educate members in the principles of physical and recreational activity of rowing;
  • Assign equipment and coach boats with assistance of Club Captain;
  • Provide assistance and promote Club Youth Rowing / Adult Recreational Rowing Programs (secondary);
  • Provide accurate health & fitness information to the LTR and Recreational members through personal knowledge and / or resource materials (negotiable);
  • Present a summary report with recommendations and considerations for the next season;

COMPENSATION

The Kingston Rowing Club would like to explore the option of a profit-sharing model for this position.
