General Description of task(s) and objectives to be achieved

Under the operational supervision of the FAO Representative in Cambodia, the technical supervision of the concerned technical officers from RAP and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, in close collaboration with all national consultants and the concerned government departments and implementing partners, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks:
Development of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials (food safety and nutrition)
·  Collect and review existing IEC materials on food security, food safety and nutrition;
·  Based on the results of the knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) study conducted under the project and the major issues identified, and on technical advice from the Regional Expert in Nutrition, develop a set of key messages designed to raise awareness about food safety and nutrition, with special emphasis on dietary diversity; these messages would target the urban poor in Cambodia;
·  Develop a communication strategy, with tools and channels to deliver the messages (billboards, posters etc);
·  Develop IEC materials with key messages, to be used by all concerned stakeholders working on food security, food safety and nutrition, particularly in urban and/or peri-urban settings;
·  Conduct pilot testing of materials to ensure their appropriateness;
Trainings
·  Coordinate with and assist the national experts and the technical officers from RAP in the design and preparation of training curricula and materials; ensure their consistency in quality and contents and appropriateness to the context of the project sites;
·  Assist the national experts and the technical officers from RAP in the formulation of standard plans for the effective implementation of training programs;
·  Assist in identifying and selecting suitable partners to deliver trainings;
·  Assist in planning and organizing training programs;
Project’s visibility
Prepare and update the project’s visibility strategy and action plan;
Prepare the project’s visibility materials in consultation with EU Delegation and FAO;
Networking with project’s partners
·  Build the project’s network of all concerned partners and stakeholders;
·  Update on a regular basis the project’s list of contacts;
·  Prepare the project’s newsletter, factsheet, and other information materials on the project;
Other
·  Take and prepare minutes of project team meeting,...;
·  Assist in preparation and implementation of project’s workshops, meetings of Steering Committee,...;
·  Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Academic Qualifications
At least BA degree in social sciences, preferably with emphasis on communication for behavior change, development or related fields
Technical Competencies and Experience Requirements
·  At least 5 years relevant experience, preferably in developing communication materials
·  Experience in coordinating and/or carrying out training programmes
·  Experience and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
·  Fluency in Khmer and English, with good reporting and typing skills in these 2 languages
·  Ability to use standard computer software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,...)
