Report
Donations / The Board of Education of the Madison Local School district met in regular session, Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at the Board of Education Office with the following members present: David Albert, Jacqueline Azbill, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert. Jacqueline Azbill presided.
Rex Reigert moved and Jay Fabian seconded that the Board adopt the agenda as presented and with such modifications made by the Superintendent. Jacqueline Azbill, David Albert, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert voted "Yes". Vote: 4-0.
David Albert moved and Rex Reigert seconded that the Board approve the minutes of the April 21, 2009 regular meeting, pursuant to Board policy BDDG. Jacqueline Azbill, David Albert, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert voted "Yes". Vote: 4-0.
Jacqueline Azbill moved and Jay Fabian seconded that the Board approve the minutes of the May 7, 2009 special meeting, pursuant to Board policy BDDG. Jacqueline Azbill, David Albert, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert voted "Yes". Vote: 4-0.

REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE TREASURER
The Treasurer presented the May update of the five-year financial projection as required by ORC
§5705.391 and OAC §3301-92-04.
Jay Fabian moved and Steve Baldwin seconded that the Board approve the May Update of the Five-Year Financial Plan, FY2009-13, as presented and found on file in the Treasurer’s office, pursuant to ORC §5705.391 and OAC §3301-92-04.
Jacqueline Azbill, David Albert, Stephen Baldwin, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert voted "Yes". Vote: 5-0.
Dave Albert moved and Jacqueline Azbill seconded that the Board engage in the following actions as listed below; provided, however, that should any item included within this motion be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be void or illegal, all remaining items within this motion shall remain in full force and effect, notwithstanding the status of the voided item.
► to approve the Financial Report as of April 30, 2009, as found on file in the Treasurer’s office, and the
payment of bills for April, 2009.
► to accept, with gratitude, the following donations:
■ golf clubs and bag from Mark Fickenscher valued at $150 to be used for student golfers in need
■ the following items to be used for Rocket Team trip to Nationals Competition

Jay Fabian moved and Jacqueline Azbill seconded that the Board remove Commonwealth Annuity/Kemper Investors
Life Insurance Company from the list of approved tax sheltered annuity companies, pursuant to Board policy DLB.
Jacqueline Azbill, David Albert, Stephen Baldwin, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert voted "Yes". Vote: 5-0.
Steve Baldwin moved and Jacqueline Azbill seconded that the Board approve a transfer of $8,958.13 from the General Fund to the Bond Retirement Fund for the payment of interest for Energy Loan V Bonds. Jacqueline Azbill, David Albert, Stephen Baldwin, Jay Fabian and Rex Reigert voted "Yes". Vote: 5-0.
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
Rex Reigert moved and Jacqueline Azbill seconded that the Board engage in the following personnel actions as listed below; provided, however, that should any item included within this motion be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be void or illegal, all remaining items within this motion shall remain in full force and effect notwithstanding the status of the voided item.
► to amend the supplemental contract issued to Chad Burgard under Board motion #147-08 to reflect
MMS 7th Grade Trip Director, effective the 2008-09 contract year, at the rate of compensation of
$700 (.02, 6 years), pursuant to ORC §3319.08 and Appendix B of the MEA Negotiated Agreement.
► to accept the following resignations:
■ Sara Lavery [MMS Teacher] effective at the conclusion of the 2008-2009 contract year; and
■ Natalie Ihlenfield [MMS Teacher] effective at the conclusion of the 2008-2009 contract year.
► to employ the persons for the positions and at the rate of compensation and other terms and
conditions of employment as listed below.
■ DeWayne Nicholes under a two-year limited Administrator’s Contract as Red Bird Elementary
School Principal, effective August 1, 2009 through July 31, 2011, at the annual rate of
compensation of $90,658 for 205 annual days, under the terms and conditions provided by the
Board, pursuant to ORC §3319.02 and Board policy GBF; and, to adjust the rate of compensation
for DeWayne Nicholes, as interim RBE principal approved by Board motion #21-09, to reflect the
amount of $425.22 per day, for the period commencing May 20, 2009 through June 19, 2009. / #78-09
