Classes are held at2 different locations. Please note which class you are registering for on both the registration form & on your check.
WATERTOWN CLASSES
Classes areheld 2 Wednesday evenings a month at Watertown High School. The address is 50 Columbia Street, Watertown MA (the third floor conference room). Please enter through the front of the building and follow signs for Families Divided.Classesbegin promptly at 6:00 P.M. and end promptly at 8:30 P.M. Traffic can be heavy at this time of day thus it is important to leave ample travel time.
WESTON CLASSES
Classes are held 2 Saturday mornings a month at the First Parish Church of Weston. The address is 349 Boston Post Road in Weston Center. Please enter through the side door on Boston Post Rd., above the parking lot & follow signs to the classroom. Classes begin promptly at 10:00 A.M. and end promptly at 12:30 P.M.
GENERAL INFORMATION – BOTH SETTINGS
Please plan on arriving at least 5 minutes early to your class to check in.
Due to court regulations, people must arrive on time or risk not being admitted.
The total fee for the two classes is set by the Court and is $80.00.
You will not receive confirmation of your registration. If you want or need confirmation, please feel free to e-mail & I will send one.
When paying by check, please be sure that it will clear through the bank. Because the bank charges Families Divided a fee when a check doesn't clear, that fee is passed on to you & is 15.00.
As class size is limited, once you register and pay for a class, a spot is held for you. Norefunds will be given without at least 7 days notice. In order to receive a certificate of completion you must attend both sessions in their entirety. There is a 25.00-rescheduling fee if you do not attend either one or both of the classes initially registered and paid for. The Certificate you will need to verifyto theCourt that you have taken the class will be issued at the end of the second class. Please do not lose this, as there is a $25.00 charge for replacement certificates.
Due to court regulations, both parents ARE NOT allowed to attend the class together. Please be sure to include the other parent’s name on your registration form. Please be aware that CHILDREN CANNOT ATTEND THE CLASSES.
IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE YOUR PLACE IN THE CLASS, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER. (If you are not able to pre-register, you may come to the class 15 minutes early on the scheduled day of the class. If there is space available, you can register at that time and pay by cash at that time).
Inclement Weather: Classes will not be held in Watertown if Watertown Public Schools are closed so check the news for school cancellations. For Weston classes, please call 978-443-3262, after 8:00 A.M. on the morning of the class, to find out. If the class you were scheduled for isn't meeting, for further information.
Please note: Families Divided classes are taught entirely in English & will not be helpful for those that are non-English speaking.
We recognize that the divorce process is difficult and stressful. Our policies are consistent with the standing order of the Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court and are intended to allow us to provide a seminar that serves the best interests of all class participants.
