Our office conducts a review of all Real Estate Excise Tax affidavits received on real property sales. Your signature on the Notice of Continuance block of the affidavit concerning the property you recently acquired indicates your intent to continue the current use classification of this land. The following information is required in order to ascertain the eligibility of the land for continued current use

Explain how you intend to use the land in continuing its eligibility for current use classification.
If the total land area in this classification is less than 20 acres, gross income data from all commercial agricultural activities for three of the past five years must be provided with this request for information. If the total land area in this classification is five acres or greater but less than 20 acres and used to grow standing crops, either gross income data from three of the past five years or expenditure data from the production of the crop from the current or previous year must be provided.
Within fifteen days after receiving your response, we will review the information and determine if classification will continue. If you have any questions concerning this request for information, please contact this office.
