For this project you will have the choice of either a pyramid of the three branches of US Government or a collage of the Bill of Rights…

Constitution Pyramid Project

Since we are learning about the Constitutional foundations of our government, you can build a pyramid, as shown in class, to illustrate the three branches of our system. One side is for the Executive Branch, one side for the Legislative, and one for the Judicial.

A pyramid can be made by drawing a simple X on a piece of paper. A square piece of paper works best. Cut along one of the legs stopping at the center. Fold along the other lines and tuck the loose flap underneath one of the other sides. A little glue or tape will hold the pyramid in shape.

Judicial

ExecutiveLegislative

Each panel is for only one Branch.

Information to include:

Name of Branch

Functions of the Branch

Details/Specific Actions that can be taken by Branch

Examples of people/jobs that serve within the Branch

Pictures/Illustrations relevant to the Branch

Checks and Balances each Branch has over the other two

Please add color and design. Pictures can be drawn or printed but the text should be typed. Overall, the pyramid should be neat, accurate, artistic, and original. As always, be creative and have fun! This will be graded on the OPIE Rubric and will have a due date of ______.

Bill of Rights Collage Project

The second choice is the collage. You will be finding news clippings, printing pictures, or drawing artwork that specifically relates to the amendments found in the Bill of Rights. After you cut them out, you’ll be organizing them and gluing them onto construction paper. You will need a minimum of ten pictures to represent all ten of the amendments. Additionally, a title and short description of each amendment should also be included near the pictures that apply. The size of your collage can be no smaller than 12” by 18”. If you prefer, you may also complete this option using Google Presentation.

The Bill of Rights
Remember to include:
A title
A typed description of each amendment
All 10 amendments covered
A minimum of 10 pictures/drawings/prints/cutouts
Minimum size of 12” by 18”

Please add color and design to your work and be sure to use as much of the space on your paper as you can. Pictures can be drawn, cut out, or printed, but the text should be typed. Overall, the collage should be neat, accurate, artistic, organized, and original. As always, be creative and have fun! This will be graded on the OPIE Rubric and will have a due date of ______.
