Schüco receives Red Dot Awards in 2017
The “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017” quality label is recognised worldwide as a benchmark for outstanding design solutions. This year, the Schüco Door System ADS 90.SI SimplySmart Design Edition with DCS Touch Display and the Schüco Ventilation System VentoLifehave been honoured with the Red Dot Award for outstanding design. The 39-strong judging panel also chose the Schüco FWS 60 CV HD façade system with mechatronic TipTronic fittings to receive the “Red Dot: Best of the Best 2017” award, the highest honour in that category. In total, some 5,500 products were submitted from 54 countries.
Schüco Façade System FWS 60 CV HD with TipTronic
The FWS 60 CV HD (Concealed Vent, Heavy Duty) façade system combines slimline face widths with a high level of functionality and optimum thermal insulation. With a face width of only 60 mm, opening units and fixed fields are indistinguishable from the outside. On the flush-fitted interior side, the window vents are only betrayed by a narrow shadow gap and the window handle.
The system achieves maximum façade transparency with floor-to-ceiling side-hung vents up to a unit height of 3.20 m. Structurally improved units as well as top and bottom lights which can be freely positioned provide added design freedom. Automatic ventilation control, for night-time cooling for example, can be implemented with the profile-integrated SchücoTipTronic mechatronic fitting in the vents to be controlled – including without a window handle as a bottom-hung vent.
Schüco Door System ADS 90.SI SimplySmart Design Edition with DCS Touch Display
The ADS 90.SI (Aluminium Door System with 90 mm basic depth) SimplySmart Design Edition door system achieves thermal insulation to passive house level and meets the highest standards in terms of aesthetics and function in residential construction. The attractive entrance door is characterised by an illuminated flush pull grip integrated in the door profile and an aluminium door infill that is leaf-enclosing on both sides. Visually, this creates a flush-fitted unit comprising the door and handle when viewed from the outside. The Schüco DCS Touch Display is available for door communication and access control. It is integrated flush in the door profile and can be operated easily and intuitively via a smartphone interface.
Schüco Ventilation System VentoLife
The Schüco Ventilation System VentoLife, which is integrated into the window, has a multi-stage air purification filter that rids the incoming air of particulate matter and other particles that are harmful to health. In recirculating air mode, too, the air in the room is cleaned so effectively that no further air purification devices are necessary. Outside air is added as required by a sensor-controlled flap and a high-quality display with an LED gap light provides information about the current operating status and ambient air conditions. SchücoVentoLifecan be used in residential and commercial projects.

The prize-giving ceremony for the Red Dot: Best of the Best 2017 awards will take place on 3 July 2017 at the Aalto Theatre in Essen. All of the winning products will be displayed in the Red Dot Design Museum for one year. The products with the top individual award “Red Dot: Best of the Best” will be given the exclusive honour of being displayed in a five week-long special exhibition in the building's White Hall.
