REGULAR BOARD MEETING

AUGUST 15, 2017

Meeting was called to order by ChairmanSchneider, McCormick, Turner and Beckman present.

Turnermoved to approve the agenda with the addition of solar eclipse and EMPG Grant meeting under reports. McCormicksecond, carried.

August 15, 2017 vouchers were reviewed. McCormick moved to approve the August 15, 2017 vouchers. Schneider second, carried.

The minutes of the August 7, 2017 meeting were reviewed. Turner moved to approve the minutes as presented. Schneider second, carried.

Schneider reported on the upcoming solar eclipse. There was a meeting with all emergency personnel discussing preparation for the influx of people.

Turner reported on the EMPG grant meeting. There are a few issues and Turner is looking into those.

McCormick moved to approve the IGA between Sedgwick County and Revere School District for the upcoming November election. Turner second, carried.

Kelly Lowery, Attorney, joined the meeting.

McCormick moved to approve Resolution #2017-027 repealing and removing the incentivized retiree program from the personnel policy. Turner second, carried.

McCormick moved to approve the hiring of Rick Furrow as Road & Bridge Supervisor to begin immediately at a salary of $45,000. Schneider second, carried.

McCormick moved to move Bob Coty to shop supervisor at Road & Bridge to include a $.50 pay increase to begin immediately. Turner second, carried.

Turner moved to give Annie Lovenburg a raise at $14.75 per hour due to her concrete plant experience and ability to fill in for Landfill. McCormick second, carried.

Turner moved to go into executive session on August 15, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. for a conference with the County Attorney for the purpose of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions under C.R.S. Section 24-6-402(4)(b). We will be discussing an employee issue. No business will be conducted and no decisions will be made. McCormick second, carried. The time is now 9:15 a.m. and the executive session has been concluded. The participants in the executive session were: Donald Schneider, Howard McCormick, Mark Turner, Carlton Britton, Kelly Lowery and Chris Beckman. For the record, if any person who participated in the executive session believes that any substantial discussion of any matters not included in the motion to go into the executive session occurred during the executive session, or that any improper action occurred during the executive session in violation of the Open Meetings Law, I would ask that you state your concerns for the record. Seeing none, we will continue with the next agenda item.

Turner moved to adjourn the meeting. McCormick second, carried. Meeting was adjourned.
