Topic The Attack on Business Immigration
With the Trump administration making clear that it is taking aim at immigration, business immigration practitioners find ourselves in a period of great uncertainty and change. We are facing an administration that is making changes to the current immigration laws – with threats to make more - that have and will negatively impact the businesses and individuals that we work with. Each day seems to bring more RFEs, increased scrutiny, and new policies and practices which make things more difficult for our clients. In addition to published guidance and policies, we are seeing consular and USCIS officers applying strict and often inappropriate standards which appear to be aimed at making it harder for our clients to obtain nonimmigrant visas and green cards.
This panel will review the current policies and procedures that have been introduced by this administration as well as discuss what is on the horizon for the area of business administration. Speakers will discuss current trends in RFEs, denials, and adjudication trends at the consulates and USCIS, as well as how to prepare your clients and respond.
