2* / Liquid / foam soap is available at the hand wash sink
3* / Liquid soap dispenser has a nozzle capable of delivering soap into a cupped hand
4* / Dispenser nozzle is visibly clean
5* / Antimicrobial alcohol hand rub gel dispenser has a nozzle capable of delivering gel into a cupped hand
6* / Pump operated hand lotion or cream is available for clinical staff
7* / Elbow, wrist or automated taps available for hand washing
8* / There is appropriate temperature control to provide suitable hand wash water to sink, e.g. mixer tap
9* / Soft absorbent single sheet dispensed paper towels are available
10* / Suitable pedal operated solid bin with a lid is available beside the hand washing sink to use after hands are dried
11* / Hand wash facilities are clean, intact and not in need of repair with all visible joints sealed

12** / Hand wash sinks are of adequate width and depth with no plugs, no overflows and water from taps should not point directly to outlet (SARI1)
