Job Title: Legacy Maker (Marketing & Communications)

Hours:37 hours per week – including some evenings and weekends.

Duration:6 monthfixed term contract (could be extended to 12 months subject to funding/performance)

Grade:Grade 5, £15,092-£16,101

Base/Location:SportPark, Loughborough University

Responsible To:Marketing & Communications Officer

Liaison With:LRS Key partners: Local Authorities, School Sport and Physical Activity Networks, Schools, National Governing Bodies of Sport, local media/PR companies, general publicand other local delivery agencies.

This post is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) anddefined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 before the coming into force of section 64 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 on 10th September 2012. Therefore a DBS enhanced check (without a barred list check) is an essential requirement.

Job Purpose:

  • To assist the co-ordination of all marketing and communications, public relation services, plans and projects for LRS.
  • To assist in the provision of LRS events.
  • To support the Business Development functions and systems of LRS.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing & Communications

  • Support the delivery of the LRS Marketing and Communications Plan and effectively market LRS’ projects, programmes and initiatives.
  • Co-ordinate the design, production and distribution of regular news and media campaigns relating to the work of LRS.
  • Support the development and promotion of the LRS ‘Brand’ to the communities of Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
  • Updating of LRS websites, social media outlets and communication systems.
  • Monitor and report on marketing and marketing technology industry development to ensure LRS maximise marketing opportunities.

Events

  • Assist in providing all aspects of event planning to LRS Officers.
  • Support the co-ordination and logistics of all LRS events and promote LRS at relevant external partner events/exhibits.
  • Support the post-event evaluation process for LRS events and provide reports and feedback.

Business Development

  • Provide support when required for the administration of meetings, training sessions etc.
  • To provide high standards of customer service and communication with external partners and the general public.
  • Support the production, maintenance and updating of directories and databases.

Other:
