THEATER CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

Mr. Blank, Theater Director

PLEASE NOTE: Student Handbook Rules are fully enforced in this classroom. (i.e. ALL cell phones, pagers and electronic equipment need to be in the OFF position and put away upon entering the classroom.)

1. Keep the room and theater clean and organized!

2. Mr. Blank’s classroom and office desk are OFF LIMITS!

3. No one may be in the theater, dressing rooms, or office without permission.

4. Mr. Blank does not accept late work, performance or written, except when it’s late due to illness. If you are absent the day something is due, you are expected to have it prepared and an excused absence the day you return.

5. Theater students must ask for permission to use the bathroom. If you need to use the bathroom, be sure to do so when it is not an interruption to the class or other performances.

6. There is no time allowed within the class for personal grooming. Make sure you do necessary adjustments before the bell rings.

7. Once the bell rings, you are to be in your seat ready for the class to begin. All bags must remain under your seat or against the wall at all times. Remove anything necessary for this class.

8. There is no food allowed in the classroom or theater. Only water bottles with screw-top lids are permissible.

9. All student-created performances, whether improv. or scripted, will follow the drama norms. (avoid allusions to drug/alcohol, no swear words, no rude comments, etc.)

10. If you need to leave the class, please look in the window to make sure no one is performing before you reenter. Wait outside until they are done.

11. Working in this class individually or in groups requires a certain level of maturity. If you cannot demonstrate your readiness for participation, you will be asked to stop participation, lose your points, and sit away from others.

12. Every member of this classroom is expected to work as part of a team. If someone misses class due to illness, a team member will be asked to fill him/her in on the necessary information s/he missed. NOTE: If you cannot come to school on a day you are to perform, you must e-mail Mr. Blank that morning and tell him! ()

13. It’s important that all students participate in keeping the classroom clean and organized. A few minutes before the bell rings, students will be asked to put things away in preparation for other students entering the classroom. Students will only be released when the bell rings if the classroom is ready.
