Scholarship Administrator and Outreach Coordinator

The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV), located in Wheeling, WV, is seeking a full-time Scholarship Administrator and Outreach Coordinator. CFOV is an equal opportunity employer.

The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is a nonprofit organization serving eight counties in the northern panhandle of West Virginia and eastern Ohio. CFOV administers more than 200 charitable funds for a variety of causes. We work closely with individuals and corporations to utilize philanthropy to improve the community. We are best known for making grants to support the work of nonprofit organizations and scholarships to students in the region. Our new annual event, the Amazing Raise Ohio Valley, has become a popular fundraising event for dozens of nonprofit organizations raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in this 24-hour online giving event.

Summary: The Scholarship Administrator and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for all assigned scholarship program functions and marketing and public relations responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner. This position will also provide support to other staff when necessary. The ideal candidate will be a team player, able to meet deadlines, communicate well with donors, supporters, fundholders, and other stakeholders, and represent the foundation well at all times. Candidate will also have experience with various forms of public relations and social media. With a small staff and many activities, the community foundation is a fast-paced environment with the rewarding outcome of encouraging and stewarding philanthropic activities.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business, public relations, communications, accounting, or related field. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media applications. Prior experience in accounting or finance would be beneficial, but not required. Knowledge of computerized data base records management systems, recommended but not required. A valid driver’s license and access to an automobile is necessary.
