LUTON BOROUGH COUNCIL'S LOCAL CONDITIONS
TO BE ATTACHED TO GRANTS OF APPROVAL
1. The room(s) in which ceremonies of marriage or civil partnership will take place must be suitably and tastefully furnished and must have at least one table and chair to the approval of the Superintendent Registrar.
2. The Superintendent Registrar and Registration staff must be allowed access to the room in which the ceremony is to take place no less than onehour prior to the time fixed for the ceremony.
3. The holder of the approval will take all reasonable steps to ensure that there is no extraneous noise from other parts of the premises for onehour before and during any ceremony of marriage or civil partnership.
4. The Superintendent Registrar is to be informed immediately if any room used for the solemnisation of ceremonies of marriage or civil partnership becomes unusable.
5. The holder of the approval shall display on the approved premises any notices required to be displayed by the Registrar General in a prominent position as directed by the Superintendent Registrar and shall display such further notices as the Superintendent Registrar or the Proper Officer for the Council may reasonably require.
6. Direction signs to any room(s) used for the solemnisation of ceremonies of marriage or civil partnership shall be clearly displayed for no less than onehour before any marriage or civil partnership ceremony.
7. The holder of the approval must not accept any firm arrangements for the marriage of any couple or the entering into a civil partnership on the approved premises unless the holder has satisfied him/herself that the couple to be married or entering into a civil partnership have confirmed the availability of the Registration staff.
8. The holder of that approval must have sufficient public liability insurance cover in a sum no less than that specified by the Proper Officer of the Council and shall produce the Certificate of Insurance on being requested to do so by the Proper Officer of the Council or his/her authorised representative.
