Moss Point School District Minimum Basic Guidelines for Haiku
Haiku Basics- Minimum Requirements
1. Every core academic teacher in Moss Point School District must have a Haiku site that is parent/student ready by September 30th. A notification will be sent out via school messenger regarding Haiku and how to access it on this date. Guidance Counselors, Principals, and Administrative Assistance will receive parent access codes and instructions for dissemination prior to this date.
2. Each site must have a home page (first page) containing the following information:
- Course information including teacher name and contact information
- Lesson plans
3. Each teacher must have a dedicated site per subject taught
4. Each site page must contain the following:
- Topic and date as the title of the page (This will create a dated navigation pane for ease of access)
- Assignments due (First block on each topic or weekly page)
- Brief Description of material being covered
- Supporting Power Points and Handouts per topic
- Any reference materials that would support the lesson/topic
*In Grades 3-12 your target audience is the parents and students. The goals of your sites are:
· To keep parents up to date and informed on what is taking place in the classroom, any upcoming assignments, and any educational materials that will help ensure the success of their student
· Provide material that enables parents and students to work productively after hours on courses
· To provide and interactive dynamic learning environment for students

*In Grades K-2 your target audience is the parents. The goals of your sites are:
· Provide parents with information regarding classwork, assignments due and dates they are due
· Dynamic resources that parents can utilize when assisting students with homework or make-up work due to days missed
Please keep in mind that these are the minimum requirements, anything that you do above and beyond these minimum requirements will be greatly appreciated.
