Cafe and Enterprise 1, 2, 3

This course is 3 days per week on site.

It is aimed at those who have an interest in working in a catering environment. This course will enable you to gain practical work experience working in Sarayan’s Café our onsite café at Stonebridge Centre, one day a week whilst attending class two days each week.

Customer Service – Retail 1, 2, 3

This course is 2 days per week on site and a minimum of 1 day working in a local shop.

It is aimed at those who have an interest in retail and would like to gain employment or work voluntarily in this field. This course will enable you to gain practical work experience working in a local shop for a minimum of one day each week whilst attending class two days each week to support learners as they increase their self-esteem and build their confidence.

Gardening Project 1, 2, 3

This course is 2 days per week.

It is aimed at those who have an interest in gardening and would like to gain employment or work voluntarily in this field. The focus of this basic practical horticulture course is on growing herbs and vegetables taking you through the planting, growing and harvesting year cycle.

The course which is mainly outdoorsis based in the Brent Start garden and or a community allotment. Students will be expected to make their own way to the allotment site each week.

Towards Employment 1, 2, 3

This course is 2 days per week.

It is aimed at those who wish to progress their skills towards getting a job.

Skills for Work 1, 2, 3

This course is 2 days per week.

It is aimed at those who wish to gain employment or improve their performance at work.

Do I have to pay?

ALD courses are free if:

  • On Job Seekers Allowance, Employment Support Allowance (Work Related Activity Group) or Universal Credit (and mandated to skills training)
  • Unemployed and in receipt of a state benefit who self-declare that they are seeking work
  • Employed for less that 16hrs and in receipt of any state benefit who self-declare that they are seeking work

However, if not in receipt of any of these benefits you will need to pay £330 per term whichis the course fees for all ALD courses except in the case of Café and Enterprise which is £465 per term.
