Flores Announcements

Calendar “B” has been approved for next year. We will be starting school earlier in 2018-2019. Watch your e-mail for more information.

PTSA meeting today in the library here at Killough @ 7:00 pm

Final warning on sagging pants – no more warnings, no asking to pull them up – straight to PASS/BASE

Students who have 4th at Main – If you are a student catching a bus home after school from Main you will need to know your bus number before the end of the day. If you do not know the route number of the bus you need to be on, you must know your address to access the route number from the LISD webpage. If you wait to ask at the end of the day, the bus will likely already be gone.

Nurse Announcement

With flu rates especially high this year, it is important to remember:

  1. Frequent hand washing is KEY.
  2. Stay home if you are sick or have a fever.
  3. Cough and sneeze into your sleeve or elbow.
  4. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose. Germs spread this way.
  5. Wipe down your phone frequently. Avoid setting it down on high touch surfaces that could be dirty. Avoid loaning it to friends or others.

If soap and water are not available to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer. There are hand sanitizers in all of the classrooms and common areas. Did you know there are also 2 hand sanitizer stations in the cafeteria to clean your hands before you touch your food to eat?

Soft Skills Announcement

An important soft skill is having what is called a Growth mindset – Looking at any situation, especially difficult situations, as an opportunity for you to learn, grow, and change for the better. Focus your attention on improving yourself instead of changing others or blaming anyone. Can you think of something that has happened during the school day that would be an opportunity for you to improve yourself instead of blaming or trying to change everyone else involved?
