Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges (Beijing NGO) was established in August 31st, 2007 in Beijing. As a bridge, we aim at promoting exchanges and cooperation between Beijing and international NGOs. With the guidance of Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and the Beijing Social Construction Office, Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges has the pleasure of requesting your organization to be present at the series of events in celebration of the 2nd Spring Reception for International Organizations in Beijing this year.

Events

Visit to Tongzhou District and a reception hosted by Beijing NGO on 11th May 2012. In the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, Tongzhou District aims at building a modern international city. One of its most important goals is to build a gathering area of the international organizations, focusing on attracting well-known international organizations and institutions to set up offices there, and to enhance itsfunction by undertaking actively high profile international activities.

Programme

You will have a tour to the Social Welfare Unit,Hanmeilin Art Museum and International New Town during which you will learn the future planning of development in culture and creative Industries in Tongzhou district. During the reception, there will be a performance and lucky draw.

Introduction of Beijing NGO Association for

International Exchanges

Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges (hereinafter referred to as Beijing NGO) was established in August 2007 in Beijing. It is a national non-profit social organization with independent legal person status.It is co-founded by Beijing NGOs in areas of science & education, culture & arts, sports & health, environmental protection, women & youth, welfare & relief, nationalities & religion, human rights protection and etc., who can conduct international exchanges and participate in events organized by international NGOs. There are 61 group members at present. They are social organizations with extensive domestic and external influence, active in conducting internationalexchanges and participating in events organized by international NGOs.

The purpose of Beijing NGO is to promote the exchanges and cooperation of NGOs in Beijing with international NGOs through providing from research and investigation, policies-publicizing, consultation, publication, professional training, to the organizing of seminars, forums, lecture, meetings, visits, exhibition and etc, which presents an international exchange platform for Beijing non-governmental organizations.

As an umbrella organization of Beijing NGOs in the field of international exchanges, the association has lead 84 person-times of the Beijing non-governmental organizations to participate in 18 conferences of the international civil society and NGOs. The association has received 222 person-times of 24 groups of officials of United Nations and representatives of international and regional NGOs, coming from 30 countries. Jointly with CNIE and relevant departments, the association hosted about 20 international meetings and events, e.g. Asia Pacific Regional NGO Forum, the 7th Asia Europe People’s Forum, the Global Summit of Women, with the number of participants about 3000 person-times.
