Langley Chapter of H.O.G.® #9043 Chapter General Meeting

February 25, 2012

1Opening - GaryJames

The meeting was called to order at 10:05 am. Gary welcomed everyone in attendance and proposed the minutes of the meeting held on 28 January 2012 be adopted as posted. Motion was carried by Mike Baines and Tom James seconded. The minutes were approved by the Chapter to be posted.

2Dyna Days - Dan Hutchinson

Dan, Service Manager for Barnes Harley-Davidson® gave a presentation on Dyno Days which will be held 20 -21 April along with Demo Days. Dan said it will cost $30 for 2 pulls and informed us that it will be a fun event.

3Women’s Clinic

Dan also presented a Ladies Event, the Women Clinic which will be held on March 11 at Barnes Harley-Davidson®.

The store is also promoting a Camping Light which is free with a purchase of $300 or more.

Gary showed the newHD t-shirts with St. Patrick’sdesign .

3Summer Sizzle & 50/50 - Greg Huot

Greg informed that the Summer Sizzle registration is available. Already 11 people have signed up . The stops for the poker run are also in progress with 5 Observation Run questions to be included. He also reminded that the registration is for $55 at the moment and after the cut off point it will be $65. For our next meeting Greg will have information on obtaining a banner with the Juvenile Diabetes info for fundraising.

Greg attended a Billiard tournament with the Vancouver and Tri-Cities Chapters and is continuing to promote good relations with other H.O.G.® Chapters

There is also a bowling tournament coming up sponsored by the Vancouver Chapter. A signup sheet was circulated for those who are interested.

A motion was tabled to expand our 50/50 to include 8 tickets for $10.00.Motion from Mike Baines, second from Don Miron. Yes majority, motion carried. We now have 1 ticket for $3.00, 2 tickets for $5.00 and 8 tickets for $10.00.

4Road Craft Presentation – Graham- Steve – Brian

Graham from Road Craft gave information and presented film and slides on what they do and courses they put together.

Their regular course price is $435 + HST but for the Langley HOG group of 3 or more $385 + HST (which is the bike show price). For 8 or more $365 + HST. They stipulated that Chapter members must pay as a group to be able to get the discounted prices.

Roadcraft is located in Richmond, No 6 and Steveston Highway.

Gary thanked Graham and informed that it was a great presentation.

5Summer Sizzle, Mentor Program & H.O.G.® Store – Samier

Samier announced that Pacific Inn, where our Summer Sizzle banquet will be held, have reduced their overnight stay prices to $79.00 + HST and encouraged members to make reservations.

This year’s Summer Sizzle t-shirt has the artwork on the front and was designed by Tom, Juanita and Jerry. Very nice with a final artwork review on March 6.

The pins will be collector item so make sure that everyone interested should have all 5.

Mentor program is still going on, welcome to the new members

Any stories or suggestions please send it to Tom so that he can add to the web site. The newsletter will be out by next weekend.

7Activities – Juanita CANCELLED

The Bowling activity for the 3rd March 2012 has been cancelled.

Due to St. Patrick’s Day please wear something green for the Greek Night at Costa’s Restaurant on 17th March 2012.

Juanita thanked everyone who participated as volunteers at the bike show also for everyone who showed up for the Valentine’s Dinner held at Newlands.

Anyone interested in submitting group ride suggestions, please write on a paper and hand the info to the Executive. Melody is organising a Princeton Weekend Ride. The resort/chalet that was used before will give 10 percent discount (off season rate in September).

A Rally is planned but more info for the next meeting.

For those who have not booked for the Kamloops Weekend Juanita has reserved 17 rooms at the Desert Inn in Cache Creek for the 2 nights (Friday,Saturday ).

Congratulations to all the winners!!!

As of March, the ABC Restaurant will no longer honour our10 percent BCAA discount atour Sunday Brunch. Greg Huot announced that MOXIE’s across Barnes Store will give H.O.G.® members a 15 percent discount and asked if members would be Interested in changing the brunch venue to MOXIE’s. It was decided that MOXIE’s would be checked later.
