Objective:

Practice learned verbs in context. Students will learn what a daily routine is, and practice using time and activities to talk, write and read about daily routines.

Level:Beginner

Time: 50 minutes

Materials: Flash cards or pictures of routines, whiteboard markers, blank hand out with times.

Set-Up: Prepare flash cards and write my daily routine on the board.

Warm-Up: (10)Review verbs learned in last class. Hand flashcards with these verbs on them out to the class at random. Ask each student with a flashcard to model or draw the verb for the class. “Now, we will review action words we learned yesterday! Students with a flashcard will draw or model the verb for the class. I will go first. “ Act out whichever card I save for myself. Make students laugh.

Presentation: (10-15)“Today we will learn about daily routines. Does anyone know the word routine? No? Write the word on board and phrases below them. (brush teeth, eat breakfast, go to sleep) Everyday I brush my teeth, eat breakfast, go to sleep. Repeated activity is a routine. Today I brush my teeth, Thursday I brush my teeth, Everyday I brush my teeth…”

Practice: (10-15)In pairs we will write each other’s schedules. Give an example. Michael and I are pairs. We are partners. I ask him What do you do at 7 am? When do you go to school? When do you study?
