- CLAS Standard 2:
- Advance and sustain organizational governance and leadership that promotes CLAS and health equity through policy, practices, and allocated resources.
- Everyone in an organization needs to have cultural training
- When having an executive board, the boards needs to be as involved as possible rather than having the board sit back.
- The board needs to stick to the vision and mission of the organization.
- CLAS Standard 3:
- Recruit, promote and support a culturally and linguistically diverse governance, leadership, and workforce that are responsive to the population in the service area.
- When searching for employees post on different and diverse job boards and offices
- Develop a continuing education plan to help those who are left out of jobs because of qualifications gain the qualifications they need.
- Boards should reflect the populations they serve. Having a diverse board gets representation from all populations.
- CLAS Standard 4:
- Educate and train governance, leadership, and workforce in culturally and linguistically appropriate policies and practices on an ongoing basis.
- There needs to be ongoing training and education for who is coming in and who is already there.
