Thank you. Mary: and thank you for bringing quite the assortment. Lets get right to the selections you brought in. What goes into picking a good summer wine or beer. For beer, the summer styles are lighter, loggers and ales. Mary: who do we have here? The anderson valley summer solstice, a creamy nice beer. Dont let the dark color fool you, it is delicious. We have this wheat beer made in a german style. We brought snoqualmie brewing summer beer which is a great, crisp light ale. And helisbach. A little bit richer multistyle but generally released in may. These are all great beers for the summer and hot weather we are coming into. Mary: now lets talk about the vine. The wines you brought. This is a beautiful vineyard out of spokane. This is a standard blend so it goes great with anything grilled. Mary: birdhouse red, steve. Beautiful. Here we have a locally grown grape, grown and bottled on bainbridge island. It is wonderfully light and refreshing, beautiful fruit on the nose, crisp on the pallet. Mary: you want to try this one and i will try the beer here. You said this is enhanced with mango. It is a mango. You can smell the mango in this. Steve: thats nice. Were lucky here in washington. Mary: that is very impressive. That is not bad at all. When you have summertime barbecues and gatherings and what not, you want to give them treats, foods, snacks so which are these that you brought. We have wonderful foods here, these caprese skewers are wonderful. Mary: easy to put together, grapes, mozzerella, and is that basil. And asparagus. Weve got seasoned and spiced nuts, cheese platter and all the food was provided by city catering. Mary: this is so delicious, i never would have thought to pair grapes with mozzerella but it is so light and so good. What is your favorite? Favorite pairing, i tent to go with the cheeses, cheese and wine together speak well but beers tend to go well with cheeses and well, especially the summer beers, the lighter kind.
