Working experience:
I worked as a Police Translator II in The Hong Kong Police Force between August 1990 and December 2001. My main duties in the Police Force included: translation of statements, orders, letters, newspaper cuttings, Government Chemists’ certificates, medical reports, appraisal reports and so on; and providing interpretation services in statement taking, interviews and so on.
I have also been working as a freelance translator for three Christian publishers, a few translation companies, a theological seminary and other organizations in Hong Kong. I mainly translate books on Christianity, legal documents, newspaper articles, press releases, book reviews, academic papers on theology and so on.I have translated more than 40 books on Christianity from English to Chinese, more than 30 of which have been published.
I am also a part-time instructor of School of Professional and Continuing Education, University of Hong Kong. I mainly teach literary translation and supervise students to do their translation projects.
