Special ordinand offer for Holy Land Trip
Any Elder or Deacon who was ordained by Bishop Coyner and has not previously traveled to the Holy Land with Educational Opportunities (EO) is eligible for a special trip pricing for the February 2-11, 2016, trip. This is a special farewell trip that Bishop Mike and Marsha Coyner have planned with EO as their last official tour with the Indiana Conference. Special pricing is also extended to anyone who will be ordained at the 2016 session of Annual Conference. The all-inclusive price based on double occupancy is $2,098 from Indianapolis and $1,998 from Chicago. This is a savings of $1,100. Also, clergy spouses may go for this discounted price with the addition of $200. An ordained may also recruit four full-paying passengers in order for the spouse to travel free. Christmas time cruise
Retired pastor Norm Nellis is hosting a Danube River Christmas Time Cruise December 3-11, 2016. Traveling on the AmaSerena, participants will experience the historic Christmas Markets of Europe. In addition, the group will explore the amazing city of Regensburg, Germany; have the opportunity for a carriage ride in Vienna, Austria; and enjoy a day in Budapest, Hungary. Prices start at $3,488 from Indianapolis. The EO price is $700 less than Ama Waterways advertised rate. Those who register by June 1, 2015, will save an additional $200 per person. retirewise workshop to be held this june

Rejuvenate Ministry is offering a Retirewise workshop for clergy and spouses on Tuesday, June 9, at Plainfield UMC. The workshop will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop will be led by David Klaus. He is a certified financial planner with MetLife. Topics covered during the workshop include: Building a financial foundation; planning for your retirement income stream; housing in retirement. umcor dunkirk projects volunteers needed

We continue to work on three homes damaged by flooding last August in Dunkirk. Thanks to Friends Disaster Services the drywall was installed last week. We now need drywall finishers to mud and tape and sand. The siding is ready to be installed and the porch is ready to be framed. We also have a modular home that needs a new roof. Volunteer teams or individuals are greatly needed to move these projects along.

Nashville, Tenn. – Petitions for consideration by the 2016 General Conference may be submitted to the Petitions Secretary beginning April 1 and continuing through October 13, 2015.
According to church law, "Any organization, clergy member, or lay member of The United Methodist Church may petition the General Conference..."

preaching fruitfulness academy

The Preaching Fruitfulness Academy is an opportunity to spend concentrated time thinking about preaching with the purpose of developing one or more sermon series in collaboration with other preachers. The Preaching Fruitfulness Academy will be led by Rev. Dr. Derek Weber, and will include:
  • conversation on the theology and practice of preaching, the why and the how to;
  • work on sermon preparation and delivery;
  • time for reflection and spiritual renewal;
  • worship with the Epworth Forest Choir School community twice daily; and
  • conversation about worship with Directors of Music – "Who's in charge here?"
The experience will include overnight accommodations, three meals a day, materials and high quality facilitation, along with powerful cohort learning with other clergypersons. A CEU certificate will be provided at the conclusion of the week.
