We are excited to host the 2017 Montana State 4-H Shotgun Qualifier! The qualifier will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 This event will be the qualification shoot for senior 4-H members (must be 14 years of age by Jan. 1st , 2017) in the shotgun discipline to compete at the 2017 National Shooting Sports Tournament.
LOCATION: This one-day event will be held at Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex located at 1767 Bender Road in Billings, Montana. Lunch and drinks are included in your registration fee.
No concessions will be available. All spectators bring your own lunch.
The 4-H National Competition (ages 14 & up) will be held on June 25 - June 30, 2017, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Selection of the Shotgun team to represent Montana will be done by combining the individual’s trap, skeet and sporting clay scores – the top four scoring individuals ages 14 and up are able to represent Montana at the National Competition. If one of the top four chooses not to be part of the team, the next 4-H member with the highest combined score will be given the opportunity to be part of the team. Members and their families must be willing to pay for the expenses associated with being a member of this team.
Registration deadline must be met and accompanied by permission form and full payment:
· Registration forms must received by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 30th. No Exceptions
· Incomplete registration forms will not be accepted. No Exceptions
· Registration/check-in tables will be open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Competition begins promptly at 10:00 a.m.
· Shooting schedule: Squads will be assigned after registrations are received. All teams will be put together by random draw and announced the day of the shoot. Shooters reporting to their positions late will not be allowed to compete. No Exceptions
· All events will be shooting concurrently, and groups will rotate as ranges become available.
Safety is the highest priority for range staff, participants, coaches and spectators. Standard accepted safety rules will be followed at all times. The Match Director, Range Officers, and other event staff may dismiss anyone from the range for unsafe behavior. The score may be forfeited, participant disqualified, or spectators barred at the discretion of the Yellowstone County Shotgun Leaders or Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex staff. To ensure a fair, safe and smooth running competition, NO reloaded shells will be allowed at this competition. Members should come with all equipment needed for the shoot. No equipment will be provided by the organizers of this competition. Participants must be an active 4-H member to compete in this event. Participants must be enrolled in high school or lower at the time of the event. This is a directive from the Montana State 4-H Council to insure liability coverage.

We understand that certified shooting sports leaders will offer trainings, and it is our responsibility to learn when those trainings will be offered and attend scheduled practices and shoots. We also agree to follow the Montana State 4-H Code of Conduct.
