Decatur City Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision Program (CEP).ALL students attending CEP schools will receive a healthy breakfast and lunch AT NO CHARGE!
The following are the CEP designated schools for 2016-2017:
- Austinville Elementary
- Banks-Caddell Elementary
- Benjamin Davis Elementary
- Chestnut Grove Elementary
- Frances Nungester Elementary
- Somerville Road Elementary
- West Decatur Elementary
- Woodmeade Elementary
- Brookhaven Middle School
- Oak Park Middle School
If ALL of your children attend a CEP school, no free/reduced application is required. It will not be necessary to arrive at school early, as breakfast will be served at the beginning of the school day. Your child will need money only to purchase a la carte items, such as ice cream and chips.
There are two options ifALL of your children DO NOTattend a CEP schooland you wish to apply for free/reduced price meals:
- If you receiveda direct certification letter for the current school year, the students listed will automatically be eligible for free meals. If there is a student of your household not listed on the direct certification letter,please notify Julia Senn.
- If you DID NOT receive a direct certification letter for the current school year,youmust complete and submit a 2016-2017free/reduced application. ALL children in your household must be listed on the application(including the children attending a CEP school). Parents/guardians of students not attending a CEP school are responsible for paying for meals until a qualifying 2016-2017 application is approved.
An online free/reduced application process is available to assist parents/guardians. To apply, go to and click on the Quick Link for free/reduced lunch on the left hand side of the screen. Select English or Spanish and follow the instructions.Information is protected using encryption technology so your personal information is safe. Sign the application electronically and click submit to complete. You will receive a confirmation number. If you do not receive a confirmation number, your application was not successfully submitted and you must follow the steps again. You will be notified of the determinationin approximately 10 days.
If you do not have access to the internet, a computer is available at your child’s school or at the Child Nutrition Office, 910 Wilson Street NE, Decatur, AL 35601.Schools will not be distributing paper applications.
