ABOUT ISTE STUDENTS CHAPTER

ISTE student’s chapter in Mookambigai College of Engineering is to assist and contribute in the development of various skills to an Engineering Students needed by the industries and otherorganizations. Currently, in the institution we have around 503 ISTE students’ memberships from various Engineering departments like Computer Science, Electronics and communication, Electrical and Electronics, Information Technology, Electronics &Instrumentation, Civil Mechanical and Automobile. The main objective of PHOENIX’13 a state level technical symposium is to provide a platform for Engineering Students to present their research results and development activities in current trends of all the fields. This symposium provides Students to exchange new ideas in various fields to improve their Technical Knowledge.

OBJECTIVES OF ISTE

  1. To formulate the general goals & responsibilities of technical education.
  2. To adjust curriculum & educational processes to changing conditions.
  3. To develop effective teachers & educational administrators.
  4. To improve instructional methods & practices & administrative usages.
  5. To enhance professional ideals & standards.
  6. To foster research as a function complementary to teaching.
  7. To cultivate fraternal spirit amongst the teachers, administrators, industrialists & professionals.
  8. To bring about effective linkage between technical institutions industry & society.
  9. To award honorary fellowships, Awards and Prizes, for furthering the objectives of Technical Education.

REPORT ON PHOENIX’ 2013

ISTE Students Chapter conducted an State level Technical Symposium“PHOENIX’13”through various student level competitions such as Paper presentation, Quiz and Best Manager on March 8th , 2013.The programme was inaugurated by Dr.E.Kirubakaran,Additional General Manager/ (Systems) SSTP,BHEL,Mr.S.Rajkumar,AssistantProfessor/ECE,Ms.P.Valarmathi,HOD/CSE,Ms.M.J.JeyasheelaRakkini,AP/CSEThe Compilation of ten Research papers that were short listed after rigorous reviews of the 25 papers that were Submitted.Dr.M.Sekar,ChiefExecutive,MCE was the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address and handed over the prizes to the winners of the events. He emphasized on the technology changes and he gave advises to a built self confidence to face a competitive world and he insisted students to built the basics strong in their respective fields. The other dignitaries present during the occasion were Dr.M.G.Venogopalan,Principal/MCE,Mr.K.Radhakrishnan.
