The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania (SCC) together with the Siauliai Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (Siauliai CCIC) is organizing business mission and invites companies to take part at the

Match-making event in Västerås on 26th of September, 2016.

The Match-making event is organized for the second time by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Mälardalen (Västerås office). The first successful event took place last year and was intended for local Swedish companies. This year and for the first time foreign participants – companies from Lithuania – are invited to take part at the event.

Invitation extents to the companies working in / supplying to the following industries:

·  Energy

·  Rail Technology

·  Automation

·  Welfare / Health

Business mission would include: presentation of Lithuania as potential partner for the Swedish companies and investors (or/and a visit to the Swedish company), B2B meetings, participation in the evening program together with Swedish companies.

Fee: Fee: 250 EUR per company (for members of SCC and Siauliai CCIC; for non-members – 300 EUR)

Includes: registration at the event, expenses for business meetings & evening program (to be detailed), and administration fee.

Does not include: travel and accommodations costs.

Västerås region | Industrial sectors

Västerås hasalmost 150 000 inhabitants. However, the Mälardalen region together with Stockholm has almost 40% of Sweden’s inhabitants.

The Mälardalen region is the area around the lake Mälaren, which connects to the Baltic Sea. It is one of the fastest growing regions in Sweden and Västerås is the second largest city in the region if you add Stockholm.

Västerås is only ~50 minutes from Stockholm and Arlanda. Västerås also has its own airport with lines to some destinations in Europe (Ryanair) and North America through Iceland (WoW Air). Västerås also has a harbor and good train connections all over Sweden. It is an excellent area for a business to be situated in for doing business in Sweden.

ENERGY

Västerås is Sweden’s energy capital. The highest concentration of energy expertise can be found in Västerås and the Västmanland region of Sweden with more than 10 500 full time employees. The firms in the region have over 350 researchers employed in the business sector. The region has a need to annually employ 2 000 people in the next few years.

ECC (Energy Competence Center) collects, identifies and develops the energy competence which has made Västmanland a national and global leading energy hub for the last 130 years. ECC’s mission is to analyze, visualize and develop energy expertise in Västmanland.

One of the driving forces in the ECC's work is the need to ensure competence regionally and nationally. Along with education institutions, the industry can at different levels interact with target groups in order for them to become more employable and allowing the energy industry to successfully attract future talent nationally and internationally.

WELFARE/HEALTH

In order to create a more efficient health care and create growth for the companies’ active in welfare and health care in Västmanland, the Västmanna council within Länsstyrelsen decided that the area should be a priority to develop in the strategic business development plan (Business plan Västmanland) established for the years 2014 - 2020.

The aim of the initiative is to develop more products and services that will benefit health care and contribute to more successful companies in the field of health and welfare. New technologies, new working methods, training and proactive health actions are needed to solve the current and future global problems and challenges in health care.

Västerås Science Park is the organization that coordinates the county's effort in the focus area Welfare and Health.

RAILWAY Technology

The Railway Cluster was formed in 2013 in Västerås and is a cluster cooperation between railway technology companies located in Västerås and Västmanland County. The cluster consist of companies such as train manufacturers, infrastructure contractors, engineering and training consultants, complemented and strengthened by providers of operations and maintenance services and research and development competence.

Just over 3 000 people are employed in the field of railway technology in Västmanland working with innovative solutions for the Swedish and the global rail market. The majority of the employees and expertise in the field of railway technology are centered in Västerås.

The Railway Cluster strives to strengthen the region as a leading center for rail technology, and attract more people to choose Västerås as a place to study, work, live and to establish new businesses at in the railway industry.

AUTOMATION

Automation encompasses all systems relating to measurement and control of production processes, with the focus on productivity, quality, environmental management and human interaction. Automation is one of Sweden's most important industries and Mälardalen is a world leading region for automation. The automation industry in the Mälardalen region has a turnover of about 33 billion SEK. Here, large and small companies have gathered in quantity, with products and world-class solutions.

Automation is an important future area with a clear connection to both IT and electronics to economics, human/machine? and the environment.

Automation is a key high-tech business in itself with a significant export share of over twelve billion SEK in Sweden. Additionally, automation is of great strategic importance for Swedish production and competitiveness.
