NIRSA Region III Student Lead On
Conference Host Application
Information for potential host schools:
1) The Region III Lead On Conference usually alternates yearly between the 2 blocks of the region (Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin being one block; Michigan/Ohio/Ontario another block).
2) Beginning in 2015, and in every third year, we will be adding a one-day professional symposium on the Thursday prior to the start of Lead On. The institutions that bid for the 2015 Lead On needs to consider their ability to host a larger number of attendees than in other years.
3) The Region III Lead On is traditionally held on a Friday & Saturday with a small social for early arrivals on Thursday night. It is usually the last week of January, although the surrounding weekends are sometimes used.
4) It is expected that the site will allow for a very low-cost/free lodging option (in the past, this has been a floor at the Recreation Center).
5) The host institution, while not expected to assume a large amount of financial responsibility, must anticipate that some logistical costs are inherent in hosting the conference e.g. professional & student contact time, etc.
6) The host institution should have both a student and professional contact who will work closely to assist the Student Lead On Coordinator and the Lead On Planning Committee with arrangements that directly affect the site.
