BACKGROUND

International Medical Corps UK is a global humanitarian organization saving and rebuilding lives through health care, training and community development. International Medical Corps UK works alongside International Medical Corps Worldwide, responding to humanitarian emergencies and communities afflicted by conflict, poverty and natural disaster in more than 20 countries around the world.

THE PURPOSE

Performance Unit Assistant Will support the Performance Advisory Unit (PAU) by ensuring that required program implementation regulations of European and United Nations donors are incorporated in PAU activities and materials. The Assistant will stay abreast of donor trends to identify which standards are likely to become requirements and provide input into the design of PAU consultations, which verify that projects are implemented as written and to the standards of International Medical Corps UK and its European and United Nations donors.

KEY RESULTS AREAS

  • Up-to-date information on European and United Nations donors’ implementation standards requirements, in written reports, matrices and in-person meetings
  • Support to PAU consultations through desk reviews of grant documentation for integration and demonstration of European and United Nations donors’ implementation standards
  • Incorporate HQ and field provided data into the PAU matrix to enable consistent verification of results in the field.

KEY INTERFACES/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Support to PAU Performance Advisors
  • Complement compliance responsibilities of the PAU Internal Audit & Grants Compliance Coordinator

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  1. Degree in Public Health or other relevant qualification –essential
  2. Excellent understanding and experience in international humanitarian architecture, donors and processes – essential
  3. Implementation or proposal writing experience with European and United Nations donors - essential
  4. This role would be most suitable for someone who is ambitious and highly motivated, bringing creativity and problem solving - essential
  5. Proficient in computer skills particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  6. Fluent in English– essential
  7. Ability to work under minimum supervision
