RESOLUTIONS OF THE 14th ISO/TC 67/SC4 MEETING

Resolution 1 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that WG convenors review their rosters to confirm the active participation of their membership and to provide contact information to the SC 4 Secretariat by 15 June 2004.
Resolution 2 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the WG 1 convenor consult with Mark Sibille to determine the proposed path forward for ISO 13534 in advance of systematic review in 2005.
Resolution 3 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that WG 1 submit a NWIP for revision of ISO 13535 to incorporate the latest changes to API Specification 8C in advance of systematic review in 2005.
Resolution 4 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 acknowledges the considerable contributions of the Project Leader for ISO 10407-1, Dr. Ed Bailey, and expresses its regret over his unexpected passing.
Resolution 5 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC4 approves Mr. Brett Chandler (Grant Prideco) as Project Leader for ISO 10407-1.
Resolution 6 (Pau, 2004)
Referencing SC4 document N274, ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that SC 4 P-members vote to revise ISO 10407:1993 and provide the names of technical experts to participate in the ongoing revisions of ISO/CD 10407-1 and ISO/CD 10407-2. (The SC4 Secretariat will send a letter to P members by 22 May advising them of this resolution.)
Resolution 7 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the SC 4 Secretariat prepare and distribute CD versions of 10407-1 and 10407-2 to the membership and to concurrently request reinstatement of these work items by ISO Central Secretariat.
Resolution 8 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC67/SC4 requests that WG convenors review the titles of their standards to ensure that they are correct and accurately describe the content of the document. Any changes shall be raised for approval by resolution at a SC4 meeting.
Resolution 9 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the SC 4 Secretariat inform ISO Central Secretariat of title changes for the following work items:
- ISO 10407-1, Petroleum and natural gas industries – Rotary drilling equipment – Part 1: Drill stem design and operating limits
- ISO 10407-2, Petroleum and natural gas industries – Rotary drilling equipment – Part 2: Inspection and classification of drill stem elements
Resolution 10 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that France (Thierry Delahaye), in consultation with the WG 1 convenor, submit an expanded scope detailing content and interrelationship with other standards for a potential NWIP on heavy-weight drill pipe by 1 September 2004.
Resolution 11 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the SC4 secretariat inform ISO Central Secretariat of title changes for the following work items:
- 13624-1, Petroleum and natural gas industries – Drilling well control systems – Part 1: Design and operation of marine drilling riser systems
- TR13624-2, Petroleum and natural gas industries – Drilling well control systems – Part 2: Applications of marine drilling riser system analysis
Resolution 12 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the WG 2 convenor submit the following NWIPs:
- Control systems manufacturing specification based on API Spec 16D, 2nd edition by 31 July 2004.
- Marine drilling riser manufacturing specification based on API Spec 16F, 1st edition by 31 July 2004.
- Rotating control devices manufacturing specification based on the ballot version of API Spec 16A-UBD, 1st edition by 31 July 2004.
- Choke and kill system manufacturing specification based on the ballot version of API Spec 16C, 2nd edition by 31 December 2004.
Titles for these potential standards shall be consistent with the other WG 2 standards.
Resolution 13 (Pau, 2004)
Pending the outcome of discussions within API SC 6 concerning additional material classes for wellhead and christmas tree equipment, in response to the publication of NACE MR 0175:2004 (identical to ISO 15156-all parts); and other issues, ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the WG 3 convenor advise the SC of the need for revision of ISO 10423:2003 by 31 December 2004.
Resolution 14 (Pau, 2004)
Referencing SC4 document N 274, ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that SC 4 P-members vote to revise ISO 10428:1993 and provide names of technical experts to participate in the revision. (The SC4 Secretariat will send a letter to P members by 22 May advising them of this resolution.)
Resolution 15 (Pau, 2004)
ISO/TC 67/SC 4 requests that the secretariat inform ISO Central Secretariat of a change in the title of 17824 to Petroleum and natural gas industries – Downhole equipment – Sand control screens.
Resolution 16 (Pau, 2004)
ISO TC67/SC4 shares the expression of appreciation by the WG4 convenor of Jennifer Kelly for her dedicated support of the subcommittee and work group activities.
Resolution 17 (Pau, 2004)
In light of the proposed JIP to update API 17B and 17J, ISO TC67/SC4 requests the WG6 convenor to ensure that ISO 13628-2 and –11 are being progressed to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Resolution 18 (Pau, 2004)
Recognising that Norway’s negative vote on DIS 13628-10 was based on a misunderstanding, ISO TC/67/SC4 requests the WG 6 convenor to explore the possibility of Norway changing its vote to allow the document to skip the FDIS ballot (if allowed by ISO/API Pilot Program procedures).
Resolution 19 (Pau, 2004)
ISO TC67/SC4 requests that the WG6 convenor provide target dates for the revision schedule of 13628-4 by 30 June 2004.
Resolution 20 (Pau, 2004)
ISO TC67/SC4 requests that the WG6 convenor submit a NWIP for the revision of ISO 13628-5 by 31 August 2004.
Resolution 21 (Pau, 2004)
Pending satisfactory resolution of comments on DIS ISO 13628-7.2, ISO TC67/SC4 agrees that FDIS ballot be skipped and the standard be submitted for publication.
Resolution 22 (Pau, 2004)
ISO TC67/SC4 requests the Secretariat to prepare and submit to ISO Central Secretariat a Technical Corrigendum for the error identified in an Annex in ISO 13628-8.
Resolution 23 (Pau, 2004)
ISO TC67/SC4 requests that the WG6 convenor submit a NWIP for a standard covering dynamic production risers – 13628-12 (replacing cancelled WI 16389) by 31 August 2004.
Resolution 24 (Pau, 2004)
In order to improve the comment resolution process, ISO TC67/SC4 requests the following:
- When preparing Form 13B documenting comment resolutions, WG convenors are expected to provide adequate explanation of their decisions, particularly if disagreeing with a technical comment.
- The SC4 Secretariat is requested to distribute Form 13B to the member countries when the draft FDIS is submitted to ISO Central Secretariat
- The SC4 member countries are encouraged to distribute Form 13B to interested parties in their countries.

ISO TC67/SC4 accepts the offer of Italy to host its next meeting on 12-13 May 2005 (location in Italy to be confirmed).
