Before Reading

During Reading
Using appropriate Guided reading strategies, students will be reading at their own pace and teachers will be listening to students read, monitoring, giving feedback, taking anecdotal notes and running records.
Students identify facts from the narrative text by placing sticky notes where they find facts as they read the text.
Attend to Comprehension Within, Beyond, & About the text:
After Reading
Add questions to the W section of the KWL chart, including how/what sources they will research.
Refer to the student’s sticky add facts learned to the L section of the KWL chart.
Share and discuss with the group.
