How the Festival Is Administered

PRE-REGISTRATION FORM

HOW THE FESTIVAL IS ADMINISTERED

Festival participants are encouraged to pre-register and then display as many whirligigs and weathervanes as they wish. There is no charge for registration or for participation in the festival. A number will be attached to each item on display, thereby concealing the identity of the participant. Come to the registration desk at the festival to pick up your display numbers.

Prizes will be awarded on the last day of the festival. There are two different ways to be awarded a prize. One way is to be selected by the public which attends the festival. Their votes will determine who wins the “People’s Choice” prize. All items on display are eligible to be voted on for this category. The other pathway to a prize is to be selected by an independent panel of judges. Numerous prizes will be awarded by this process but will be limited to those display items that have not won a prize in past festivals. Media coverage of each festival is expected.

Security will be provided to protect display items and to store them overnight, however all risks are borne by the registrants.

Items on display may be sold by the registrants after the conclusion of the festival if they wish. Visitors who want to purchase a display item will be given a form to fill out in which they would identify, by number, the items they are interested in .and would provide their phone number and address. This information will be passed on to the appropriate participants who can then contact these potential purchasers.
