The Institute of Infectious Disease & Molecular Medicine (IIDMM) invites applications for this one-year, part-time contract position, with the possibility of renewal, for appointment.

The successful candidate will be expected to offer administrative and secretarial support to the Professor of Medical Virology . The candidate will also be expected to work closely with other academicstaff and students within the Medical Virology group.

Responsibilities:

•Secretarial: front line reception, minute taking, arrangements for travel and conferences, management of Professor’s calendar etc.

•Research Projects: asssistance with submission of new project applications, updating database with current publications etc ,.

•Office Admin: petty cash, filing, office organisation, etc.

•Human Resources: Setting up systems to track appointments, renewal of contracts/bursaries, maintaining records, etc.

Essential Requirements:

•A Secretarial qualification and/or at least 3 years experience working as a Personal Assistant

•Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Internet, e-mail)

•Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

•Ability to work methodically, efficiently, meticulously, independently with minimum supervision, and under pressure (when required)

The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is negotiable between R53676.00 to 98526.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
