1.05 Quality Assurance

A. Source limitations

1. FRP wall panels and moldings: Obtained from single source with resources to provide products of consistent quality in appearance and physical properties without delaying the work.

2. FRP ceiling panels: Obtained from single source with resources to provide products of consistent quality in appearance and physical properties without delaying the work.

3. (FRP)(Aluminum)(Stainless Steel)(Hot Dipped Galvanized Aluminum Cap) Suspension System: Obtained from single source with resources to provide products of consistent quality in appearance and physical properties without delaying the work.

1.06 Project Conditions

FRP Panels:

A. Deliver to site in manufacturer’s original unopened packages. All panels shall be inspected upon delivery in a well lit area, and defects reported.

B. Lay flat. Do not store on edge.

C. Store in a fully enclosed space.

D. Protect against damage from moisture, direct sunlight, surface contamination and other causes.

E. Acclimate to room conditions for at least 24 hours.

F. Handle carefully to avoid chipping edges of damaging units in any way.

2.02 Materials

A. Panels:

Finish: (Textured One Side)(Smooth Both Sides)

Wall Panel Size: (48) inches wide by (96) (108)(120)(144) inches long.

Ceiling Panel Size: 24 inches wide by (24)(48) inches long.

Fire Resistance: (Class “A”)

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 Examination

A. Examine area receiving system to identify conditions which will adversely affect installation. Do not begin installation until adverse conditions have been remedied.

3.02 Installation

A. FRP Wall Panels: Installed in accordance with publications referenced below and Manufacturers’ written installation instructions.

B. FRP Ceiling Panels: Installed in accordance with Manufacturers’ written installation instructions and CISCA “Ceiling Systems Handbook”.

C. Subwall Surfaces: Clean, flat, dry, smooth and free of all dirt, dust and grease.

D. Wall Panels: Installed with 100% adhesive coverage (recommended method). [Fasteners are used in conjunction with adhesives in certain applications where needed (high moisture, uneven substrate, high abuse, large panels attached to ceilings)].

E. Expansion. Leave minimum 1/8 inch gap at ceiling and base. Allow 1/16 inch gap between panel and each side of division bar. If using face mounted molding (T-Bar, two-piece division bar, etc.), allow 1/8 inch gap between panels.

F. Fasteners:

1. Used to fasten panels to rough surfaces where adhesive would be inappropriate.

2. Non-corroding.

3. Fit snug but should not be overtightened.

Note: Refer to Manufacturer’s written installation instructions, including the use of silicone sealants.
