Instructions for Erasmus Mundus
Master Students
Dear student,
In order to fulfil the admission/registration requirements to the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Nuclear Physics (EMJMDNP) at Universidad de Sevilla, and also to the subsequent issue of the Master’s Degree Certificate/Title at the end of the master course, we need you to submit to the International Graduate School ( ), as soon as possible, the scanned documentation described below. We insist that these requirements are mandatory according to the Spanish legislation for the issue of the Master’s Degree Certificate/Diploma.
On the other hand, if you are a scholarship awarded student, we will use this documentation to register you officially as student at the Universidad de Sevilla as a student on EMJMDNP. If you are not a scholarship awarded student, you should make the registration yourself via Distrito Único Andaluz, DUA:

This website is open from the 1st of July until August, the 25th you will be able to fulfil your registration and follow the whole process of your application.
At the end of the document we have included a description of all the steps you should follow before and after your arrival in Sevilla.
DOCUMENTATION.
The following documents have to be scanned (PDF format preferred) and sent to before the 15th of July in order to do the pre-inscription, and the original ones delivered, once you arrive in Sevilla, to the Escuela Internacional de Posgrado (Pabellón de Mexico), Paseo de las Delicias, s/n. 41013 - Sevilla:
1. A certified copy of a valid Passport (or NIE – Spanish Residence Permit)
2. The original Degree Certificate/Diploma of your undergraduate studies or an authenticated copy. This degree has to give direct access to postgraduate studies.
3. The original academic certificate or an authenticated copy of the studies issued by the country of origin. This document should include: the duration, the subjects, academic records from the university of origin indicating the minimum record to pass and the grade scale, duration of each subject (yearly, semester/quarter,etc), number of theory and practical hours given per week); final marks and duration (either in time or ECTS credits), including the results of the Final Project.
4. Certification from your University confirming that the undergraduate Diploma presented provides access for Graduate Studies (Attached is an example of a valid certification you could submit).
All the documents, must be official and issued by the competent authorities and except for number 1 and 4, must be duly legalised and signed according to the requirements of Spanish regulation (see below for details) and translated into Spanish. The translation (always after the legalisation of the original ones) must be official, either by a sworn-in court translator in Spain or abroad (named by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation), or alternatively, by the Spanish Embassy or Consulate in your country (in this case they must legalise the translator’s signature). This is the only valid translation according to the Spanish legislation.

Concept / Students in possession of academic documents issued outside Spain that are required by the Universidad de Sevilla for administrative purposes must ensure that they have original copies issued by the competent authorities, in accordance with the applicable legal framework in the country of issue. In most cases, these documents must be legalised and translated.
The legalisation of foreign academic documents is governed by international agreements applicable between the country of issue in which the documents were issued and the country in which authentication is sought. The specific procedure varies according to the country of issue and the country in which they are required.
Information on the legalisation procedure should be obtained from the university at which the course of study was completed, consular services in the country of issue, or the competent authority in each case.
Note that the legalisation or apostille must be affixed to the original document.
Procedures for which legalised documents are required / The legalisation of academic documents is necessary for a number of procedures, including the following:
· Study of equivalence of a foreign qualification for admission to a university master's degree course or doctoral program.
· Study of equivalence of a foreign qualification for admission to a US-specific master's degree or postgraduate diploma.
· Partial validation of foreign studies.
· Homologation of foreign doctoral degree qualifications.
Documents requiring legalisation / · Degree certificates.
· Academic certificates.
· Certification by the competent authority that the academic qualification held by the student in question grants access to university master's degree studies/doctoral studies in the country of issue.
· European Diploma Supplement.
· Other documents required by US bodies in order to complete the corresponding administrative procedure.
International agreements / The specific legalisation procedure will depend on the country in which the documents were issued and the applicable international agreements, if any.
The most common situations and legalisation procedures are outlined below:
A. European Union member states and countries signatory to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or a bilateral agreement with the European Union.
B. Countries signatory to The Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.
C. Countries signatory to the Andrés Bello Agreement.
D. All other countries.

Conditions / The competent authorities in the country of issue must authenticate the signatures appearing on the academic documentation and attach the appropriate apostille or certification.

BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL:
· Using the scanned documents, it is necessary to do the registration in the Master as a Universidad de Sevilla student.
o If you are a scholarship holder student, we will use the scanned documentation received to register you officially as student in the Universidad de Sevilla as a Master student in EMJMDNP.
o If you are not a scholarship holder student, you should make the registration yourself via Distrito Único Andaluz: http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/economiainnovacionyciencia/sguit/.

· Once we have verified that the scanned documentation is correct, we will provide you with an official letter, signed by the Vice-Rector, recognising your eligibility to register in our Master. In case you are coming from a non-European Union country, you will probably be asked to present it at the Spanish Embassy/Consulate in your country to obtain the visa.
o If you are a scholarship holder student, you will receive the invitation letter to the Master as soon as your scholarship is confirmed by the Erasmus + program and we have received your scanned documents.
o If you are not a scholarship holder student and you make the registration in the EMJMDNP via Distrito Único Andaluz, DUA, you will receive the invitation letter when the registration in the master via DUA has been officially recognised.
ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN SEVILLA:
· Do not forget to bring the original documents in order to be cross-checked with the scanned ones previously sent by e-mail. Those documents are compulsory to issue the Master’s Degree Certificate/Diploma when the Master is finished.
· In Sevilla the final steps of the registration and the verification of the documentation will take place in the International Graduate School, Pabellón de México, Paseo de las Delicias, esq.Avda. Eritaña__41013 Sevilla, for which it is essential to provide original documents.
· Please contact us to obtain information on how to apply for the residence card (ID card). This residence card is needed for example to open a Spanish bank account (where the transfer of the scholarship will be made to the awarded students) and other legal formalities.
· For information on accommodation in Seville, you can check the accommodations available in the University of Seville through the web linkhttp://sacu.us.es/spp-servicios-alojamiento. Also keep in mind that there are many private apartments and single rooms in apartments that you can rent. It might be easier to get private accommodation once you have arrived in Sevilla.
