Step 1—Desired Results
Standard Outcomes for Learning (ACTFL Standard 1.1)—Answer’s the question, what should students know, understand, and be able to do as a result of the lesson?
1. Students can use some expressions in daily life.
2. Students will know some simple sentence structures.
3. Students can remember some names of fruits in Chinese: apple, pear, banana, grape etc.

5. Students can express their preference.
Step 2—Assessment Evidence
Performance task—What will students do to show what they have learned?
Students will be able to recognize the 7 colors in Pinyin and can describe things in colors.
Four Corners: Students can understand the names of the 7 colors by doing some activities, for example, by fill in the color according to the directions in Chinese, which can be regarded as formative assessment.
Draw lots: Students have the chance to speak out in the form of interview or voice track, so the teacher can know well about the difficulty to overcome in the following teaching.
Circling: The students will be able to talk to each other in their groups and two groups will be drawn and present in front of the whole class, which gives the teacher enough feedback of how much they have learned.
Step 3—Learning Plan
Learning activities - Answer’s the question, how do I teach it?
Materials: Quizlet, real fruit and things in daily life that has bright colors.
Step One Greetings
Step Two Lead-in
Introduce the dance--little apple, andgive the topic: fruits.
Step Three Activity I
Group-cooperate: Divide students into four groups, and give different pictures to each group. There are some design on those pictures, which are made of pieces or cubes of fruits. The students need to figure out what fruits are included in the picture of their own group.
Step Four Activity II
Draw lots:Each student will draw a kind of the fruits they have found out on papers, one paper for each fruit. They need to find out the name of the fruits by using Quizlet and paste on their drawings.
Step Five Activity III

Step Six Consolidation
Students will log in Google Classroom and use the flashcards to review the words they’ve learned. Then all the students will join the game Gravity on Quizlet and whoever gets 10,000 points first can get a sticker for his/her “passport”.
Step 4—Reflection
What happened during my lesson? What did my students learn? How do I know? What did I learn? How will I improve my lesson next time.
Some students didn’t understand the instructions from the teacher very well, I need to learn some useful expression in classroom from other teachers. They love drawing pictures. I had better make good of use it. In order to organize the class better, I need pay attention to different characters of students.
