Cranes / Robin, Charlotte & Cory / Sprayed with anti-inflammatory agent; Meeting earlier today at 4pm about the cranes, talked to the Collegian; Cranes will be moved to Whitmore on Monday; should keep for next year too!
Programming Update / Robin & Charlotte / No budget for spring activity; Dinner with alumni? Would students be willing to pay to go? Incentive? Seniors only? Free food will get people to attend; benefit to ComCol? Recognition of 10th anniversary, get ComCol students together; involve daffodils somehow? Sweet tooth soiree minus sweets (Hot Chocolate!); have at the beginning of spring semester; for example the crane-making party worked well! Scavenger hunt? Casino night? / Think about a possible spring event for next meeting!

Capstone / Tim / Timeline-what it is/how to start/topic? Website? Handout? Capstone educational event with people who have done a capstone and people who will be doing a capstone; Something for RAs to put on? Hold meeting where capstones are displayed? 25th floor of library, ask archivist; there is a capstone how-to on display at the Undergrad Research Conference; Weekly Wednesday Workshop-type event about capstone, by college/major for sophomores/juniors; Event at night or weekend, 2 weeks after seminar starts? “Capstone for Dummies”, Worksheets? Diagrams? Questionnaire?; Capstone to solidify what you’ve learned or do something that gets you to where you want to be after you graduate (bridging project); Project does not have to be related to major; Capstone is an umbrella term; can be independent or course; panel discussion with people in all forms of capstone; honors seminar redesigned to cover capstone in freshman year; seminar with an overview and specifics about capstone / Think about if you want to be in an academic capstone focus group.
ComCol’s Image / Tim / Talk with other students in other honors colleges; get facts and stats; make note of places where we can do better; look internally to see how ComCol does at UMass; look at role of honors college of different universities; ComCol Reform Committee? Zach will head, vote on for next meeting!
