Summary: The national body for qualifications in Scotland. The SQA is also responsible for most qualifications taken at colleges. Their main role is to ensure the quality of the qualifications is upheld and that they remain relevant and valued.

Summary: A primary agency whose purpose is to contribute to the development of learning provision within FE colleges through the support of staff and the curriculum. Summary: In 1999 Community Learning Scotland replaced the Scottish Community Education Council as the national community education agency. Working in conjunction with local authorities, public and voluntary sector agencies they have produced national and local strategies for supporting community learning and development, to promote social inclusion, lifelong learning and active citizenship.
