THE WORK PART:

The Data Analyst/Validator is responsible for accurate and timely sorting, prioritizing, keying, verification, and validation of data using various software programs, databases, and/or websites. Our in-house pattern recognition software will identify where data is missing or does not match the expected profile. You will then need to investigate if these anomalies are due to valid changes in customer/retailer behavior (e.g. sales promotion increasing the numbers) or due to a fault with the equipment. If the later you will need to raise a request for one of our engineers to visit and in the meantime monitor and adjust the data accordingly, so the client reports are unaffected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Answering ad-hoc queries from customers regarding their data
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly internal and/or client reports
  • Evaluate information or data from multiple sources and determine appropriate course of action based on provided guidelines or requirements
  • Locate and correct data entry and/or source document errors based on program specific business rules, research, and/or validation processes
  • Prioritize and batch materials for imaging, data entry, or validation
  • Communicate with clients/customers and leadership and ask specific questions to clarify data
  • Utilize multiple resources, including databases, websites, or other documents to determine whether provided data complies with laws, regulations, and/or program standards
  • Maintain logs of activities and work completed
  • Respond to requests from management for client information
  • You will be need to be inquisitive and use the internet to do research, phone the customer or talk to our engineers to get to the real cause of the data changes.
  • Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data before and after keying

Supervisory Responsibilities and Work Hours

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Work hours are 7am- 4pm M-F. Sunday work may be required 5pm -9pm within a 40-hour work, hours will be adjusted to keep in a 40-hour work week when Sunday work is required.

Job Specifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

Advanced computer experience, including experience with Microsoft Office,Strong Microsoft Excel skills, preferably Inc. Pivot Tables, or similar business software. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as data entry, word processing, and transcription. Relevant college certification/degree preferred.

Other Desirable But Not Essential:

  • VBA macros in Excel
  • SQL Server
  • Tableau
  • Power BI
  • Previous experience of retail analysis or retail industry

Work Location: Liberty Station, Point Loma, San Diego, CA

THE PLAY PART:

Our office is located in Liberty Station, a epicentre of fun and good times. We are co-located at Moniker Commons, with access to paddleboard, ping pong, showers, jogging trails, etc. Our work space also comes with beer and cold brew on tap. We have a great work environment and believe in celebrating hard work and success. We are a small start-up family here in San Diego that also socializes outside of work over local jazz and the quest for the best taco in San Diego.
