Position Summary:

The Corporate Director of Global Leadership and Development reports directly to the Vice President of Global Human Resources, Maureen MacInnis, and will work closely with the rest of the Senior Executive team and Division Leaders to provide a visionary approach to leadership development. The successful Candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a leadership development strategy that will align with and support the overall business strategy and bring new and creative thinking to the process of developing, retaining, managing, and recruiting human capital across the company. The Corporate Director will provide leadership to ensure this critical aspect of human resources is a trusted, service oriented business partner that is responsive to the needs of the individuals and the Company and committed to supporting continued global growth. This position has three primary functions: to manage the training and development staff and direct them in overseeing and improving the effectiveness and success of the organization’s human capital; to support leadership throughout the organization by a thoughtful assessment and calibration of their talent and helping them reach their goals and objectives; and to serve as the key person responsible for talent acquisition at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives:

Ø  Defining and leading on a global basis the organization’s leadership development programs; including but not limited to high potential talent identification and calibration; succession planning (EDR); performance management processes (PACE); employee learning and development programs; on-boarding; and career mobility.

Ø  Working with the senior leadership team to assess and develop both the organization and its talent for continuity, and succession in the future. Identify both standardized formal development programs, as well as coach leaders on developing employees through role assignments, project initiatives and delegation opportunities.

Ø  Creating and implementing an executive leadership development program that aligns with strategic business needs to assist the top leadership team in continuously improving their leadership and management skills.

Ø  Partnering with the businesses to conduct periodic needs assessment to ensure HR Talent Management programs are meeting the changing needs of the businesses.

Ø  Partnering with the businesses on the creation and development of high potential development programs. Provide coaching, guidance and oversight for the development plans of the global high potential associates, with input from local businesses and HR leaders.

Ø  Working closely with all HR leaders to ensure that the development of HR services and programs effectively support the organization’s strategy and goals.

Ø  Providing organizational design expertise and consult with department leaders to ensure that the organizational structure and roles are designed to achieve the most effective business results while supporting the development of top talent.

Ø  Partnering with the business to design and develop a standard for change management practices. This includes the development and communication of a change management model, as well as the identification of the needs associated with the implementation of the model and guidelines as to when it should be used to facilitate organizational changes.

Ø  Designing and developing an OD “toolkit” for the HR organization, working closely with the Area HR Directors to assess OD capability and competencies. Create the appropriate programs and processes to develop stronger expertise within the HR team. On an ongoing basis impart OD knowledge, best practices, tools and techniques to operational HR leaders and their teams.

Ø  Overseeing global learning and development initiatives to ensure alignment with the business and designing and delivering learning programs that support DENTSPLY’s values and employment brand. Enable learning for associates that is focused on business and associate needs with flexible delivery methods to meet the varied needs of the global workforce.

Ø  Partnering with the businesses to conduct behaviorally based needs assessments and provide targeted development programs (either designed and delivered internally or by partnering with the appropriate external providers).

Ø  Playing a key role in the recruitment of top executives to Dentsply. Develop and manage a selection process that ensures the highest caliber of candidates; assist senior leadership in developing a network of contacts in their specific areas of expertise to ensure top quality recruitment pools in the future; and provide guidance to the operating businesses that need assistance with selection processes.

Candidate Qualifications:

The successful Candidate will be a proven leader who combines leadership development and organizational development expertise with strong strategic and analytical skills and abilities, seasoned maturity, and excellent intuition. S(H)e will be a team player with strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills and is someone who is successful in working cross-functionally in an entrepreneurial and matrixed environment. The ideal Candidate will be an individual who brings passion, commitment, excellence, and a positive attitude to everything they do and will have a track record of successful execution and delivery of results.

An undergraduate degree in business or related field is required with an advanced degree preferred.

The successful Candidate will have 5 - 10 years of progressively responsible experience as a human resources generalist in a global operating environment with a minimum of 5 years of experience in employee development and organizational design and development. S(H)e will have a high degree of business acumen and operational understanding combined with strong strategic and analytical skills and abilities. This individual will have a proven track record in developing and executing strategic and operational HR programs and plans that align with and help deliver on the strategic goals and objectives for the business

(S)He will have a successful track record of designing and implementing talent assessment and management programs on a global basis. The successful Candidate will also have a proven track record of developing and managing a development program for high potential employees with demonstrated results in creating a successful talent pipeline for the business. Through these efforts this individual will have helped to drive a high-performance organization exemplified by proactive employee engagement and successful change management with a positive results-oriented approach.
