IMSciences Honored with First Youth Development Corps (YDC) in KPK :
IM|Sciences welcomed the honorable Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Mr. AhsanIqbal to plant a seed of the Planning Commission Project, Youth Development Corps (YDC), here at the Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar . The key objective of the YDC Forum is to directly involve youth in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and generate a citizen feedback system that prioritize issues and shapes the paradigm in which all actors can act together in a cohesively productive manner.
Director IMSciences, Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan in his welcome note briefed the honorable guest about the vision and mission of the Institute. The Director expressed his utmost gratitude to the honorable Minister and highlighted the salient features of IMSciences and appreciated the government efforts in making IMSciences as one of the leading institute for higher education in the country.
Speaking on the Occasion, the Minister for Planning Commission expressed great honor in selecting IM|Sciences for YDC in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While addressing the audience the honorable Minister emphasized on the importance of management education in terms of reshaping the socio-political and economic paradigm of Pakistan according to the vision 2025, which has been initiated by the incumbent government. The Minister paid rich tributes to the founding members of IMSciences and its pivotal role in imparting quality management education in this part of the country.
Mr. AhsanIqbal also elaborated about the initiatives of the federal government in reviving the national economy on modern lines. He reiterated, the significant projects being carried out in this regard by the government, specially the CPEC project that would be a game changer for Pakistan. The Federal Minister has also inaugurated Research and Seminar Block at the Institute.
Four students belonging to different programs took oath as the first YDC team from IMSciences, namely: Ms. NoorHin Khan (President), Ms. Anum Babar (Vice President), Ms. Huda (General Secretary) and Mr. Atta ullah (Media Person). The team will work in close coordination with Planning Commission and Industry for sound policy formulation and implementation on socio-cultural and economic sphere in terms of providing effective service delivery to the common masses. At the end of the session the honorable Minister answered quarries from the audience.
