  4. We need to find that out
  5. DAA—could the information be given to the registrar?
  6. Stimson—yield to senator
  7. Patrick—how are you going to do this?
  8. Take it to other bodies like ASWSU and IFC-Pan. Will need a lot more support than just RHA.
  9. Please take this back to your halls.
  10. Residence Life Resolution
  11. RAs being older in McEachern, McCroskey, and Orton. Have RAs exceed the average age? Biggest concern having some sort of quantified age or returning staff.
  12. Finance—as an RA who is younger in an older hall, are there enough RAs to be in those buildings?
  13. Feel like there is enough of a pool this year.
  14. Duncan Dunn—wondering if you could give an example for difficult to respect?
  15. Senior in Wilmer Davis; when I find out that my RA is a sophomore, hard to have them telling you what to do.
  16. Stevens—could we have experience rather than age as the qualifier? Experience more important than age.
  17. Community—yield to Michael Seraphin
  18. Assumptions that you are always going to have a younger boss or older boss? Is this resolution necessary to open that bridge for communication?
  19. Yes.
  20. Scott Coman—age specification is just as important as experience.
  21. Yes.
  22. Honors—are there other ways to monitor this?
  23. Orton and McEachern already have an age restriction; McCroskey has international students who are usually older. Cooperation with Residence Life is important for this to be implemented.
  24. Stephenson North—do you think if they are given a position as an RA it should be given that they are given respect?
  25. Yes, it is important. Becomes a problem with respect, not age.
  26. McEachern, yield to Patrick
  27. Would it be better to start lines of communication with Residence Life, and leave this as a last ditch resort?
  28. Yes, it could be.
  29. Finance—a good idea to pull experienced RA into a freshman hall where experience and discipline is needed?
  30. This was brought to her attention, just a vehicle; we can do what we want with it.
  31. Community—what is the percentage of returning Para-Pros? What about learning experiences?
  32. Good point.
  33. PR—Do you think it’s funny when you are a 21 year old and you have a 19 year old RA, but you’re drinking and can’t open the door because she is underage?
  34. NCC—spread out experience around halls?
  35. A lot of returning staff, not a problem.
  36. Cougar Security Resolution
  37. We’ve been trying to not pay for Cougar Security for Snowball. Cougar Security is the only security we can have for on campus events. Event specialist training for REDs and RAs. They are trained to do what Cougar Security does. Use martial arts groups as well.
  38. Programming—programming committee sent through training?
  39. Sure
  40. Community—would it be required for RAs?
  41. Would not be required for them to be there, request services far in advance.
  42. Waller—outrageous for cost of Waller dance cougar security costs doubled?
  43. Yes
  44. Community—yield to Mike
  45. Negating what you are trying to do in the “be it resolved” part, change to make it more clear.
  46. Stressing other forms of security, not Cougar Security, see your point.

  49. Finance—full funding, $382.52
  50. Duncan Dunn—moves to second reading, McEachern second. Moved to second reading.
  51. Regents—what time is it?
  52. 8:30 to 11 pm.
