Following is a list of special events taking place at BOLDFest’s 9thAnnual Conference at the Coast Plaza Hotel on September 5-8, 2013, all of which offer sponsorship opportunities.
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 5thEVENING RECEPTION
This is our first big event, which offersa warm welcome to all our guests.There’ll be a conferencewelcome after which Claire Robson and Pat Hogan will offer a brief overview of the weekend. This is followed by a featured guest speaker, an ice breaker to bring women together, live piano music by Dorothy Dittrich, drinks and hors d’oeuvres -- adelightful way to start up another dynamic BOLDFest!The reception will be held at the Coast Plaza Hotel’s spacious 2nd floor conference reception area.
Full sponsorship of this event is $600 and includes:
- A half page ad in our program, a$125 value
- Signage at the event

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 6thMORNING SINGLES BREAKFAST
The Singles Breakfast offers a great way for singles to connect with other single women at the beginning of the weekend. Held at the Coast Plaza, it has become a popular conference tradition.This year we will enjoy the comedy of local comedian Diana Kuch, who’s been rocking the comedy clubs on Vancouver Island and isknown and loved by those who’ve attended BOLDFest in previous years.
Full sponsorship of this event is $200 and includes:
- An eighth page ad, a $50 value

FRIDAY MORNING PANELSOLD
Some of us see ourselves as spiritual beings and some do not. This panel brings together women from different spiritual backgrounds to discuss questions such as: What is faith, spirituality, or religion? What are the differences among them? What have they got to do with feminism, if anything? How
are lesbians regarded in the various faiths? How has spirituality complicated and divided the women’s movement, and how has it, or might it, bring us together? This panel will take place on Friday morning.

FRIDAY LUNCHEON
Our Friday Lunchon the patio is a conference favourite. Our guests willbe inspired by our keynote speaker; as well as by the view of English Bay, the city and the mountains. The luncheon is typical of the Coast Plaza’s well-known cuisine including fabulous desserts, over which we’ll continue the discussions and enjoy the new friendships started at our welcoming reception on Thursday evening. We’ll also be presenting the annual BOLD Woman of the Year award, a way of saying thank you to women from Canada and the US who have/are making a difference.

FRIDAY EVENING ENTERTAINMENT AND DANCE SOLD
On Friday evening we continue with this year’s theme – BOLD Humour. Sheila Norgate is not just hysterically funny; she’s a smart social satirist and seasoned performer with the capacity to make people laugh so hard their cheeks hurt for days. After the show, we’ll clear the dance floor for the first BOLD boogie to favourite tunes throughout the decades. We’ll be holding this event on the Coast Plaza’s 35th floor with breathtaking panoramic views of the coast and city lines.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7THNIGHT RECEPTION, ENTERTAINMENT AND DANCE
The Saturday night event has become the “talk of the town”. Held on the 35th floor, we will be hosting a spectacular reception with appetizers and drinks (cash bar). It's an elegant place to dress up and show off! Our featured performer, Karen Williams, is a well-known African-American lesbian standup comedian, writer, and workshop leader. BOLDFestees' are in for a real treat!This event is open to local women who are not registered for the conference.And, of course there’ll be another night of dancing until we drop.Simultaneous to this, we will be running our fabulous Silent Auction, an event that not only brings out much fervor and friendly bidding competition, but also makes the difference in raising revenue to help BOLDFest continue each year.
Typically, the Saturday evening event has been co-sponsored by a number of organizations and individuals who are listed in our program next to the event. Minimum donation $150.
