Duties:The purpose of this role is to promotion of overall project training, communication and engagement activities and tools ensuring the ongoing positive inclusion of, and effective safety critical communication with the entire workforce.
The post holder will be required to be responsible for:
· The maintenance and delivery of the project’s Induction and Behavioural Based Safety workshops
· Establishing and mentoring Employee Safety Forums
· Recognise opportunities and requirements for internal H&S training based upon forthcoming construction activity risk profile
· Designing and delivering bespoke Tool Box Talks
· Compiling and preparing daily/weekly briefings
· Co-ordinating and developing ‘Red Alerts’ and other safety engagement tools
· Co-ordination and fostering the project’s Rewards and Recognition program
· Close liaison with colleagues in Construction department
· From time to time - standing in as competent and qualified construction and tunnel activities safety inspector
· This list in indicative but not exhaustive of this job role
Essential Criteria:
· The role will require the post holder to have a good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal and to be able produce written reports.
· Must adopt the Drugs and Alcohol policy and enforcement scheme
· NEBOSH
· A relevant qualification in a communication, engagement or leadership management role.
· Previous experience of a major infrastructure, together with a proven ability for highly effective communication and leadership skills.
· A proven track record in safety supervision and the ability to recognise risk and manage all possible avenues of mitigation including systems supporting pro-active and reactive surveillance and how to interpret, prioritise and effectively communicate significant issues.
· Candidate must be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
· The ability to take and follow instruction and have a flexible approach to work is essential.
· Computer and language skills

This role is PAYE only.
