SECONDARYUNITSUBSTATION

1.1SCOPE

A.Thisspecificationprovidesthetechnicalrequirementsforan[indoor][outdoor]secondaryunitsubstationcompletefromtheincominglineterminalstotheoutgoingfeederterminals. Thecontractorshallprovidedandinstallallcomponentsasspecifiedhereinandshownonrelatedelectricaldrawings.

A.SubmitshopdrawingsandproductdataforapprovalandfinaldocumentationinthequantitieslistedaccordingtotheConditionsoftheContract. Alltransmittalsshallbeidentifiedbycustomername,customerlocationandcustomerordernumber.

B.DocumentsforApproval:One-linediagrams,dimensionedplans,sectionsandelevationsshowingminimumclearances,installeddevices,majorfeatures,nameplatelegendsandbillsofmaterial.

C.FinalDocuments:Recorddocumentationtoincludethosein1.3.Bandwiringdiagrams,single-lineandthree-linediagramsofswitchgearbusandcomponentconnections,productdataofaccessoriesorpartsnotpreviouslydescribedinthedrawings,listofrecommendedsparepartsandinstructionandinstallationmanuals

D.ProductData:Includefeatures,characteristicsandratingsofswitches,fusesandothercomponents,time-currentcharacteristiccurvesforpowerfusesandanyovercurrentdevices.

E.ShopDrawings:Detailequipmentassembliesandindicatedimensions,weights,requiredclearances,methodoffieldassembly,componentsandlocationandsizeofeachfieldconnection. Includethefollowing:

1.Enclosuretypeanddetails.

2.Nameplatelegends.

3.Busconfigurationwithsizeandnumberofconductorsineachbusrun,includingphase,neutralandgroundconductorsofmainandbranchbuses.

4.Currentratingsofbuses.

5.Short-timeandshort-circuitratingsofswitchgearassembly.

7.WiringDiagrams:Detailwiringforpower,signalandcontrolsystemsanddifferentiatebetweenmanufacturer-installedandfield-installedwiring.

B.Storeandhandleinstrictcompliancewithmanufacturer’sinstructionsandrecommendations. Protectfrompotentialdamagefromweatherandconstructionoperations. Storesocondensationwillnotformonorinswitchgearandifnecessary,applytemporaryheatwhererequiredtoobtainsuitableserviceconditions.

C.Tightenbusjoints,electricalconnectorsandterminalsaccordingtomanufacturer'spublishedtorque-tighteningvalues.Installequipmentgroundingconductorsforswitchgearwithgroundcontinuitytomainelectricalgroundbus.

3.2ADJUSTMENTS AND CLEANING

A.Manufacturer'sFieldServices:Engageafactory-authorizedservicerepresentativetoinspectfield-assembledcomponents,installationandconnectionofswitchgear;andtopretestandadjustswitchgearcomponents. Reportresultsinwriting.

B.Setfield-adjustable,protective-relaytripcharacteristics.

C.Cleanexposedsurfacesusingmanufacturerrecommendedmaterialsandmethods. Touch-updamagedcoatingandfinishesusingnon-abrasivematerialsandmethodsrecommendedbymanufacturer. Eliminateallvisibleevidenceofrepair.

3.3TESTING

A.Testing:Afterinstallingswitchgearandafterelectricalcircuitryhasbeenenergized,demonstrateproductcapabilityandcompliancewithrequirements.

B.Procedures: Performinspectionsandtestsspecifiedbelow. Reportvaluesthatdonotmeetmanufacturer'swrittenrecommendations. Certifycompliancewithtestparameters.
