To facilitate the Supply chain activities like procurement, distribution, transportation & storage, the warehouses are designed, strategically positioned and used.Warehouse is the key integrator in Supply chain process, a tool for competitive advantage to maximize service levels. Today’s modern warehouses are profit centers rather than traditional storage spaces.More focus on increasing the efficiencies of warehouses are essential due to Warehousing costs contributing 25% to 30% of the total Supply chain costs, increase in number of Third party Logistics Service providers, better utilization of costly space, increased number of SKUs, more JIT requirements, more demanding customers etc., In addition to traditional warehousing functions like picking, packing, cross docking, etc., modern present day warehouses support the supply chain with various value added services. Organizations are striving hard to improve their warehouse turnover and productivity by adaptation of Technology and various techniques.

To identify the various techniques and trends to handle effectively the Warehousing and Inventory functions, CII is organizing a“Two days training program on Warehouseand Inventory Management”

Learning Objectives:

The aim of this Generic training Module is to provide individuals with a deeper understanding of the breadth of problems likely to be encountered by modern warehouses and to offer practical approaches to their solution.

The module is designed to give participants an understanding of the key functions of Warehouse, appreciation of the key characteristics of Warehouse Management Systems, Warehouse performance metrics which can help in measuring the performance of Warehouses, appreciation of the main cost and control parameters in Warehouse operations and logistics. Also, the course provides an insight into CII’s WAREX certification.

Delivery Mode: Through Power Point Presentations, short Video Clips, Case studies and analysis.

V. Gopalakrishnan - is a Counsellor with CII Institute of Logistics. He has got a B.E (Mechanical) & MBA (Operations) from CEG, Anna Univ. and has got years of hands on experience in both Automotive Industry as Assistant Manager - Purchase and new Product development and in IT Industry as Subject Matter Expert for ERP - SCM Modules. He has worked on various consulting assignments for various industries in India and abroad.

R. Arivalagan, Associate Counsellor, CII - IL

Arivalaganhas his Masters in Project Management and Bachelors degree in Engineering with Electronics & Communication Specialization. He has a professional experience of around 9 years in various verticals of Supply chain & logistics. He has an overseas experience in China for an OEM- Mobile Phone production; He has close to 6 years of industrial experience in Materials Management & Supply Chain Related activities. He is a TUV SUD certified Procurement and Materials management professional. He also co-ordinates the WAREX certification. He is one of the key members in the consultancy projects of Institute.

A discount of 10% will be admissible on three or more nominations from an organization. Participation fees is non-refundable/ non-adjustable against any other programme of CII, but change in nomination(s) is accepted.

Registration:Prior registration for participation by the sponsoring companies is necessary. Number of admissions will be limited to 25.
