IT 499 (Thesis) / IT 494 (Project) Registration policy:

Students beginning the program at any time are eligible to pursue the Thesis (IT 499) option of the degree. Students beginning the program prior to fall 2002 or fall 2007 and after are eligible to pursue the Project (IT 494) option of the degree. Please see the graduate advisor for further details.

Permission for first semester’s hours requires completion of the PreliminaryMaster’s Thesis or Project form with the signature of your committee chair submitted to the Graduate Advisor by November 1st for spring registration and April 1st for summer and fall registration.

Permission for second semester’s hours requires completion of the Final Master’s Thesis or Project form with the signature of your entire committee submitted to the Graduate Advisor by November 1st for spring registration and April 1st for summer and fall registration.

300 Level Courses:

In general, graduate students must register for the .05 section of any 300 level course (as in 353.05) in order to receive credit toward the IT M.S. degree. However, for topics courses register for the course as listed.

ENG/TEC 349:

ENG 349 is currently the only course you may use to fulfill your technical writing requirement (it is no longer being offered as TEC 349). Please note that students planning to graduate in December 2012 will be given priority. If you aren’t graduating soon, be sure to give an alternate choice in case you do not receive anoverride for this course.

If the course you requested is full, you will be given the option of registering for a second choice or being added to a waiting list. You should contact the graduate advisor regarding your options.
